An AP story in the Fall River, MA heraldnews.com reports that Bush will veto the Democratic legislation that will be put to vote tomorrow that requires the government to negotiate with drug companies for lower prices under Medicare's Part D drug benefit.

For any of you that might be a caregiver for elderly parents, you won't welcome the news that Bush is digging his heels in to keep the insurance and pharmacy industries racking up profits on the backs of the vulnerable elderly.  To me this has been a disasterously implemented program that proportedly helps the elderly but considering how confusing and bureaucratic it is, I'm positive that the elderly, who might not  have the help of someone younger to plow through all the material to figure out which plan is best, might just be buying something they don't need and paying more than necessary for thier drugs.

Shame on you Bush for your heartlessness. Your parents can afford the drugs....what do you care!
