Webb's Address Today to the EPI

This morning Sen. Webb was the keynote speaker at an event kicking off a discussion on the Economic Policy Institute's "Agenda for a Shared Prosperity."  Unfortunately due to Iraqi war matters, Mr. Webb was stuck on the Hill, yet his great message was seen and heard clealy through a video feed.

Like music to our ears, Mr. Webb spoke truthfully about the economic injustices that exist and the need for a return to economic fairness.  He compared our current problems with those faced by Teddy Roosevelt in the beginning of the last century.

When I initially got on board with the Webb campaign - well prior to the Democratic primary - I never imagined that he would turn out to be so great on the concerns facing the middle-class majority.

To this Union lawyer, Mr. Webb is a real treat and I couldn't be more delighted to have him as my Senator!

And for all those who said that Jim Webb (Lowell - 1/11/2007 5:03:13 PM)
was a "one-trick pony" or whatever other nonsense, here's more evidence that Webb goes WAY beyond foreign policy in his interests and expertise.

The man's a multi-tasking beast (Catzmaw - 1/11/2007 5:15:34 PM)
So Webb manages to knock one out of the park on the domestic agenda, sits patiently through about 2 and a half or 3 hours of questions from Foreign Relations Committee members, and still manages to make an original suggestion and ask a question so pointed it sends Condi into a "check is in the mail" tizzy.  And all before lunch.  He's accomplished more in a week than George Allen managed in six years of fawning sycophancy.

Video of Webb's speech (Jambon - 1/11/2007 8:33:54 PM)
should be up tomorrow according to the website for this event.  It says to check here:

Thanks for blogging about this Matt!  I see Judy Feder spoke there as well.

Judy is always great (Matt H - 1/12/2007 12:53:19 PM)
She gave a glowing review after a presentation by Yale Professor Josh Hacker on his vision for a nearly universal health plan.  His idea is fantastic and realistic (now if only the pol.s will act!).

If Judy says it's a good plan it probably is.

Kudos Senator Webb (relawson - 1/11/2007 10:42:38 PM)
I'm sure the Senator has already read the paper on globalization, also released today by the EPI - I would encourage everyone to give it a once over: http://www.sharedpro...

I look forward to watching the Senator's remarks tomorrow once the content is posted to the EPI website.
