Jerry The Duck

Jerry Kilgore is a Bad, Bad Man!

Jerry Kilgore will make your children pay

Jerry Kilgore is a "spend like crazy and borrows from our kids' futures to pay for it" Republican, the result of which is fiscal ruin. When the bills finally come due, and they will, our children  are going to be stuck holding the bag. In other words, he's a Gilmore Republican.

Laws only apply to someone else

According to MyDD,  "Several of Kilgore's closest staffers and allies have been caught up in an eavesdropping  scandal. It appears that all of them took the fall and protected Kilgore." Sure, the Republicans settled the  case for $750,000. And sure, Kilgore wants us all to believe that it's  a "dead horse" (nothing to see here...move right along). But the bottom line of it is that Kilgore just hopes the whole sordid affair will be forgotten, because he knows that, as Bob Gibson of the Charlottesville Daily Progress writes, the "troubling
testimony" of Kilgore's chief of Administration
(Anne P. Petera) "still echoes." What we at RaisingKaine.com want to  know is: "What did Jerry Kilgore know (about this scandal), when did he know it, and why did he do nothing about it?" And really,  how credible are his denials of involvement when several of his closest staffers, allies and aides were most definitely implicated.

In other words, the state's chief law enforcement official, Jerry Kilgore,  was AT THE MINIMUM playing fast and loose with the law in the eavesdropping  case. Is this the guy we want as our GOVERNOR?

Look who his close friends are

Kilgore has hired as his top advisors some of the nastiest, dirtiest, most vicious men in politics. Specifically, we're talking about Kilgore's hiring of Scott Howell as his media strategist.

Yes, this is THE Scott Howell who was responsible for smearing triple-amputee and Vietnam War hero (and former Senator from Georgia) Max Cleland as a disloyal, unpatriotic, Saddam- and Osama-loving traitor. Oh yeah, Howell was also the guy behind the controversial Bush/Cheney ad that exploited images of rescue workers removing bodies on 9/11.

As if THAT wasn't bad enough, Howell was also behind the racist black hands ad in last year's Oklahoma Senate race  for his far-right-wing extremist client, Republican Tom Coburn (yeah,  the same guy who favors the death penalty for doctors who perform abortions and is obsessed with "rampant  lesbianism"  in the schools of southeastern Oklahoma). And now this Howell character brings his unique brand of political campaigning -- impugning other candidates' religious beliefs, toying with racial code language, attacking the poorest and weakest among us -- to Virginia. Oh joy.

If you like all of the above, then Jerry Kilgore's just the leader you should vote for in November 2005. That is, if you want a divisive,  irresponsible, execution-crazy, smash-mouth politician as your next governor. (Now ask us how we REALLY feel about Jerry Kigore!)
