Thanks for your interest in One Corps. Please note that we are still testing, but we want your input about this program and this site. Please join or start a group, and email info@johnedwards.com with any questions or problems you have.

One Corps' mission is about more than online organizing. We believe that effective advocacy and implementation of change happens when the online world and the offline world work together. One Corps offers the components and tools to make this possible.

Over the coming weeks and months, One Corps chapters and their members will be working to ...

Fight poverty in their local communities; addressing important local needs through community organizing and service projects.
Help elect local, state and federal candidates who support One America ideals, and who are fighting for all Americans.
And, spread the message of One America by writing letters to the editor, calling local radio stations, talking with other members of their communities at events and meetings, and recruiting new members to the One Corps community.
Together, through these and other actions, we can and will make a difference in this country from the ground up.

Together -- as One Corps -- we will create the one America we all believe in.

Thank you RK ! (and sorry I don't know how to do those hyperlinky thingys ----beachydem)

Thanks for the info (Silver Fox - 12/29/2006 7:59:51 PM)
I saw John Edwards on Hardball tonight and was impressed.  Glad to know that he's pressing ahead, starting to work with the grassroots.  The election of Jim Webb to the Senate showed what a good candidate working with us folks down in the trenches can accomplish.  Edwards was right when he said we can't wait until 2008...we've got to start to fix this country now.  Bush and his wrecking crew have a big head start and the damage they're doing gets worse every day.

You're very welcome! (beachydem - 12/30/2006 11:13:06 AM)
Edwards is very passionate about local and state elections also (his Raising the States project), with hopes he'll give us a little help taking back the Va.Assembly this fall :)

do not forget to look @ Progessive State (totallynext - 1/1/2007 7:26:00 PM)
Make sure you also are keyed into the Progressive State network.

John Edwards in New Hampshire (Bernie Quigley - 12/31/2006 11:16:40 AM)
I saw John up here in Portsmouth, NH, day before yesterday. He had 1,000 people waiting outside in 20 degree weather to get in who didn't have tickets. They say it is a larger crowd than he ever drew when he ran last time. This was a characteristic New England “urban professional” crowd, one which would naturally gravitate up here to Howard Dean or Senator Clinton. But they were crazy about Edwards. When I heard him talking outside without seeing him I thought I was hearing Jimmy Carter - his North Carolina accent is getting more and more rural Georgia. His program is Carteresque; the poor, the working class, the common people  - it could well  form a Democratic matrix or framework for the next 20 years, one that Jim Webb, Wes Clark, Mark Warner and even Midwesterners & red state pols like Kathleen Sebelius could fit very well into. It might have been significant that this occurred on the same weekend as the execution of Saddam and we are seeing the end of one malevolent Washington political culture and the beginning of a new benevolent one.
