Jim Webb On Friday, at the VFW  post in Falls Church, the Veterans for Webb group had a dinner honoring Jim Webb, the campaign, and his victory. Post commander, Bob Smith and fellow veterans have a gift they will present to Jim Webb in his Senate office after he swears in. I spoke on behalf of the campaign, and Jim Webb for being unable to attend. And collected another gift for the new baby and presented to Jim Webb Saturday.

On Saturday, I was able to attend Gerry Connolly's "Thank You Supporters" lunch. As NLS, reported it was a very successful event with about 500 people in attendance. I was able to talk to Mac McGarvey & Paul Reagan. Apparently if you or anyone you know is sending your resume they have recieved over 2,000 resumes thus far. This is far more than any incoming Senator. I also was able to talk to Jim Webb for a bit and informed me that Jimmy Webb called him early Saturday morning to let him know that he is in good health and spirit. By the way, Gerry Connolly talked to me about Live-blogging here on RK in the future.

On Sunday. I watched football and blogged on Daily Kos. And, it has been reported here that Senator-Elect Jim Webb has $175,796 left over from the campaign in finances.

Wonderful News! (cycle12 - 12/17/2006 11:35:28 PM)
Thanks, "drmontoya"; am particularly glad to hear that Jimmy is doing well, that Mac made it back safely from southern Illinois last week, and that at least 2000 very intelligent people are interested in working for a winner - and especially a leader - like Jim Webb.

Would someone please send a short note to Neil Young to let him know that he can stop "lookin' for a leader"?

We found him right here in Virginia.

Thanks!

Steve

Ouch, over 2000? (SweetAlexandria - 12/18/2006 12:50:54 AM)
I was hopeful that my months on the campaign trail, three years of law school and policy background would give me a decent chance at an interview . . . until I read this post.

Thanks jerk! (just kidding, obviously) :)

Between teacherken's diary and yours it sounds like it was quite an event.  It would be great if anyone has some.

Sorry I missed you.. (drmontoya - 12/18/2006 11:16:17 AM)
I was running around trying to say hi to people because I got there at the end of Andy Hurst's speech.

Send me an e-mail at (Catzmaw - 12/18/2006 11:49:20 AM)
catzmaw@gmail.com so I can send you my photos.  Unfortunately, my batteries ran out just as Webb was getting ready to speak, but I did get a few candids and pix of the other speakers.

Veterans For Webb - Gift for the Senator (Hoss - 1/2/2007 9:11:23 PM)
Teammates:

I have the gift Mr. Montoya referred to in his note above and would like to present it to Senator Webb ASAP.  Can anyone give me a Point of Contact on his staff with whom I can schedule a presentation.

Thanks,

Mike Yuhas
