Ohio Rep. Kucinich to run for president.  http://news.yahoo.co...

I like Kucinich.  I think he is a nice person and the right politician for his district.  I also think my mother is fantastic - love her to death.

Just like my mother, Kucinich has a snowball's chance in hell of getting the nomination.  I guess he wants a platform for his anti-war agenda.  The only thing, Dennis, is that everyone is on that agenda now.  What else do you bring?  He's the type of person I want to go out drinking with and have a good time, not the type of person I want to run the country.

I think I said that about Bush at one point, so I want to make one thing clear: Dennis Kucinich is much smarter than George Bush (of course, so is Forest Gump).

nice analogy! (Jambon - 12/11/2006 8:23:59 PM)
though I'm not sure Dennis would be the type of guy to have a beer with!  he seems more like a "soy latte" kinda fella.

i agree he's a good rep for his district.  but i don't really get him running when there isn't a viable mass anti-war movement or sentiment right now (people don't like the war, but they aren't taking to the streets other than the loonies).  it just seems like a waste of time and money on his part if you ask me.

Kucinich is all right.... (mosquitopest - 12/11/2006 9:10:08 PM)
We need more "progressives" willing to run for the presidency so more issues get discussed.

Personally I like Dennis K and wish we had more lie him...

Buzz...Buzz...

Believe me I really do.  And yes, we need more of him.

I just don't think he has a chance at winning even the primary.  Of course, we said the same thing about Jim Webb and he won, so I may be wrong.

In this case, I don't see it in the cards for him.  Every last other candidate would need a "Macaca moment", get caught up in a joint scandal, and go on a Mel Gibson like tirade for him to have a shot.  Even then, he would still probably need to rescue an infant from a burning building.

So when you think about it that way, he could pull this thing off ;-)

I think Dick Cheney has a better shot of being President - from Bush biting it.

Kucinich is the lion of the loony left. I'd hope that this time he doesn't drag out his candidacy well after other major candidates have dropped out. I think that we could have benefited greatly from Kerry-Edwards debates without Kucinich and Sharpton on the stage. I know it sounds authoritarian and undemocratic, but I really don't like candidates that aren't serious (I'm not sure Kucinich has field offices Iowa and N.H.) taking up air time from serious candidates.

I'm sure there's lots of people that disagree with me, but its just my two cents.

glad to see it (TurnVirginiaBlue - 12/13/2006 3:49:13 PM)
Do you know Kucinich has a very good pro worker Voting record on H-1B?

Some of his stances are just a little too "new age" for me, but ya know, he just comes out and says his position and he's been right as well as ahead of the curve on numerous issues.

He voted against the India Nuclear Agreement and I had to agree with him that this was an agreement that is possibly going to be the worse decision congress ever made.

It was a dire warning and I think he's right...

I would like to see (relawson - 12/20/2006 11:22:09 PM)
I would like to see more Democrats come out with a more pro worker voting record - and to oppose the indentured servant (H-1B) visa.  Kucinich has always been pro-worker and I commend him for that.

Perhaps I will help his fledgling campaign if for no other reason to make sure the middle class is well represented in the primaries.  I am hoping a candidate with better odds will run on middle class (and poor) issues.  I would rather help a candidate who supports our positions, yet has a chance of winning.  Which is why I will probably support Edwards unless another candidate can convince me to support them.

Regarding the dire warning on the India nuke agreement, I hope he is wrong.  If he is right, that spells death for hundreds of thousands (possibly more) people.  A nuclear arms race is the last thing we need in the region.
