Don't forget - Jim Webb, along with Jon Tester, will be on Meet The Press this Sunday, November 19.

Interesting little write-up about Webb, wife Hong Le, and baby-to-be in The Richmond Times Dispatch.

According to the  AP, the final margin by which Webb beat Allen was 9,329.  Thank goodness the lead just kept growing after those nervous moments late on election day!

This is an open thread.

Could they get (RenaRF - 11/17/2006 4:19:58 PM)
a better picture of Webb for that "exclusive"??  Sheesh.

Email the Army Times ... (Rob - 11/17/2006 4:27:34 PM)
and tell them to fix this typo!

Sen. Jim Webb, R-Va., the Marine combat veteran and former Navy secretary, is asking for a seat on armed services or foreign relations. Both committees will be adding Democrats and eliminating Republicans. None of the other arriving Democratic freshman senators are talking about either committee, so Webb may be able to pick his favorite.

It's been fixed for 3 days. (phriendlyjaime - 11/17/2006 4:57:35 PM)

what do you mean? (Rob - 11/17/2006 5:06:14 PM)
The article still calls Webb a Republican in the link above.

I think your cache (RenaRF - 11/17/2006 5:28:33 PM)
is pulling back an uncorrected version.  When I go there it's all "D-Va".  But good eyes in the first place!

I think you're both right... (Rob - 11/18/2006 8:28:17 AM)
thanks.

Webb for VP? (EmperorHadrian - 11/18/2006 3:00:35 AM)
Russert should ask Webb if he would consider running for vice president as a democrat in 2008.

Once again, RTD Bio Lacking (KathyinBlacksburg - 11/18/2006 10:22:20 AM)
Though the RTD article is generally good, it's another example of the media giving mention to Webb's son, but not his daughters.

Rock Star (Matt in VA - 11/19/2006 11:05:31 AM)
Jim Webb is a rock star. Moynihan, baby!

I missed it! (DanG - 11/19/2006 11:54:09 AM)
It was on at 9:00 this morning.  I'm a nineteen year old college kid on break.  I'm lucky to get up before 2:00.  Can we post a link once we get one either to YouTube or the MSNBC home page.

the Link will be posted on MSNBCs MTP site after 1 PM EST (Used2Bneutral - 11/19/2006 12:42:20 PM)
There is a delay while they clean it up and convert it and then post it..... go to http://www.msnbc.msn... after 1 PM and then select MTP from the menu across the top on the right.... you'll see it there.....

The interview is up there now (Used2Bneutral - 11/19/2006 3:47:49 PM)

Webb on MTP (xspring1 - 11/19/2006 12:08:44 PM)
Just watched Meet the Press and I have to say we have elected a real star to the Senate.  Webb is going to be a force for change and a force to be reckoned with.  imagine that the junior Senator from VA has a brain and uses it!  Give 'em Hell Jim!

Yes it was a good interview (Catzmaw - 11/19/2006 1:23:30 PM)
He and Tester come across as a couple of sensible straight talking guys who'll say what they think and stick with it.  Webb spoke of the need to talk to the Iranians and Syrians and pointed out that they are pragmatic when they have to be.  I really enjoyed the interview with Koppel on Iran, also.
