21-51: Long Live the Fighters

I'm not sure what happened when I posted this the other day, but guys, we've got to stay focused.

I think that the real reason we had an effect on the 2006 election in Virginia is that we took the initiative and kept on fighting.

2007 is the year of 100 Delegate races and 40 State Senate races, and turnout will be miniscule!

Check these Numbers:

2002 (Congress) - 39%
2003 (VA Legislature) - 31%
2004 (Presidential) - 71%
2005 (Gov & Leg) - 45%
2006 (Sen & Cong) - 51%

2007 will have the lowest turnout numbers before redistricting! If we can organize, support and energize our volunteers this year the way we did for Jim Webb, we will be able to have an incredible influence and may be able to claim the state legislature.

That's the biggest prize on the table because this is really the last chance we have to take over before redistricting in 2010.

We've celebrated for a week. We've allowed ourselves to drift.  Now, it's time to focus:

This organization exists to promote an Enduring Democratic Majority in the Commonwealth of Virginia and 2007 is the year we can have the
greatest long-term movement towards that critical goal.

If Lowell is going away, there's nothing we can do about that. But we can fight on in his name and truly turn Virginia blue.

LONG LIVE THE FIGHTERS!
