Ok, this one is going to be short.

For starters, I can't take it. I am back, I only left for a few days.

Well, actually I don't think I ever left at all.

I will say though, I can't blog as much as I have over the past few years. So, just a few thoughts now that I admit that I am addicted not only to the internet but to political blogs.

First 2006:

Congrats Everyone!!!!
Second, P2008.

Here's My favorites in order, and why:

1) Wes Clark, because he's freaking amazing.
2) Barack Obama, because he can energize youth and minorities.
3) Evan Bayh, because he's sharp and a successful red state guy.
4) Tom Vilsack, because he's much tougher than we're are all thinking.
5) Bill Richardson, would be nice to have a hispanic on the ticket.
6) Joe Biden, because he's a good statesman.
7) Hillary, so polarizing. God, I love her though.
8) Tom Daschle, Tom.. um you need to get your job back!
9) Johnny Reid Edwards, ok. I will support him if he's the nominee but I just cannot stand him, or his supporters for that matter. But Edwards is a nice guy, with a good populist message. He needs to calm down he's cult like supporters. It's a RACE guys and gals, not a guarantee!
10) John F. Kerry, he's running but I just can't see it working out like he wants.

Everyone else. Sorry either don't have a chance or so far and very likely not running.

Now, you decide.

I'm not gonna vote in your poll, but I DO (teacherken - 11/14/2006 9:14:21 PM)
want to welcome you back.  As you know, I was urging you not to give up your participation.

You will have to manage your time, not that I am one to offer advice on that  :-)

thank you (drmontoya - 11/14/2006 9:17:30 PM)
and yes, much better time management from now on.

I am sure the busier I get the less frequent I will contribute to RK and Kos.

We all need to get together. Not just to celebrate, but to meet in some cases, and to just talk politics and have a few!

oh how nice it would have been (philgoblue - 11/16/2006 9:28:31 AM)
if you'd actually have lived up to your promises.

Now you're going to subject us to calling fellow Democrats "cult" members and this jewel:

"Edwards is and dumbass"

We know how you really feel, you're one of those Clarkistas that feels the need to bash your rivals and their supporters.

philgoblue.. (drmontoya - 11/16/2006 10:52:04 AM)
is one to talk, he's been called out as well. I have nothing to hide. I did bash Edwards for a long time. I have never liked him. Now though recently I am warming to him.

Philgoblue on the other hand, and read his comments on kos he consistently bashes clark or anyone who isn't supporting Edwards. He does it more frequently than I ever have. Why, I don't even blog that much he was bitching on kos before the election about "getting back to work" and writing diaries that were not about 2006.

Here on Raising Kaine we have more common sense than that, obviously he wasn't really doing anything to "get back to work" than to bitch and complain from a computer monitor and a typewriter himself.

Philgoblue has been called out several times by many bloggers on kos for being a hypocrite. It's a shame, and it's a waste of my time. I actually have work to do.

=)

RE: Bayh/Warner (JPTERP - 11/15/2006 12:02:27 AM)
A Bayh/Mark Warner ticket would likely flip Virginia, Indiana, and Ohio without sacrificing any traditional Dem strongholds.  Election over.

Bayh has solid nation security credentials, Warner has a solid graps of economic policy.  Both are moderates, together they would be tough to beat, and they would govern well.

Biden and Kerry are both non-starters.  Daschle likely is in the same camp.

Hilary--capable, but polarizing.
Obama, charismatic and intelligent but inexperienced.
Edwards, (see Obama).

Wes Clark--angling for a cabinet post.
Richardson--a great VP candidate, but needs a background vetting on the "Clintonian-vice" angle.
Vilsak, another non-starter.

glad to have you back DJM! (Jambon - 11/15/2006 3:27:14 AM)
political blogging is VERY addictive indeed.

I must take issue with a couple of your favs though!

Bayh and Vilsack are nothing but DLC corporate hacks.  Bayh was an enthusiastic supporter of the credit card companies lovely little bankruptcy reform bill.  And Vilsack is the current head of the CEO loving DLC.  Bush and the GOP are waging war on the working class in this country, and the last thing we need is another anti-populist/pro corporate dem in the White House.

I must say I'm underwhelmed by our choices.  I'm still waiting for that mystery candidate to emerge.

Welcome back; you're a great contributor (PM - 11/15/2006 9:11:35 AM)
BTW, I think Hillary is going to run and take it all.  This is a major change for me, but in the polls I've seen she is not doing too badly in early match-ups.

Won't say "told you so." (KathyinBlacksburg - 11/15/2006 11:51:49 AM)
If you read my comment to your earlier announced departure from this blog, you'll see I am not surprised.  The blogging "bug" is almost impossible to get rid of.  And, as I said, you are a natural.  Glad you are back.

President Edwards! (beachydem - 11/15/2006 9:36:01 PM)
...but since you do not like him or his supporters, I guess I have nothing else to say :p

Who is Wes Clark?

some supporters (drmontoya - 11/16/2006 10:53:15 AM)
and It was more meant to be a joke anyway. =)

No problem sweetie :) (beachydem - 11/16/2006 7:44:58 PM)
I'm used to the Edwards bashing on Dkos and DU, it's troublesome to find hate speech on my home state blog.

That which doth not kill me makes me stronger!  Eh?

Though, does the good General approve of "hate messages" ?  I didn't think so.
