This photo was taken at Ireland's Four Courts in Arlington. About 30 Webb supporters, and many patrons in the bar/restaurant, broke into applause when George Allen announced he was conceding the election. We all then headed over to the Arlington Courthouse Plaza for Jim Webb's "press conference," aka rally, aka acceptance speech at 4:15 PM. I thought Jim had a good chance of winning from the beginning, but I didn't think (back then) that control of the Senate would come down to Virginia... I still have to keep reminding myself that this isn't a dream...
With 2008 cominng up fast, all of us need to focus on how we can keep the network of people who coalesced this year around the Webb campaign communicating, active, and engaged, so we can do even better in the presidential race. The last 6 years haven't been good, but the tide is turning... :)
