Bob Marshall: Let Joey Tour!

Things are really heating up in the race to defeat "Sideshow" Bob Marshall (R-13), but this time the heat's not coming from his opponent, Bruce Roemmelt.  In fact, it's not even coming from this year's election campaign, per se.  Instead, the young lead singer of Every Night Lies, -- Ryan Walsh -- whose drummer is Bob Marshall's son (Joey), has declared his candidacy to defeat Bob Marshall in 2007!

At the heart of Ryan Walsh's decision to run against his friend Joey Marshall's dad is the cancellation of a summer tour last week for their band.  The cancellation resulted from Bob Marshall's refusal to allow Joey tour.  Apparently, Bob Marshall feels so besieged by homosexuals that he won't let Joey out of the house and refuses to let him tour. That's just sad.

Here's what Bob Marshall has to say on the subject, according to Ryan's blog:

2005-08-06 "Life isn't all about fun Joey, you think this shit with all these homosexuals running against me is fun?"
-Virginia House of Delegates Representative Bob Marshall (R-13th District), explaining to Joey why he cant go on the tour.

Now, here's more on the unfolding drama at the Marshall residence, also courtesy of Ryan Walsh, 2007 candidate for Delegate:

Welp, you read it. Tour cancelled. Why? Because Mr. and Mrs. Marshall are paranoid psychos who believe that the worst comes out of every situation. I'm thinking of running against him next year. Pledge your support now.

After a long discussion that Ryan Smith, Kacz, and I had with the Marshalls trying to convince them to let Joey come, they still said no. Ridiculous. He's almost 20 and they treat him like he's 13. He's got to get out of that house. It will be hard, but in the long run I think he'll be happier with himself. Me and Smith basically agreed that we will most likely not talk to Mr. or Mrs. Marshall or step foot in that household for a very long time.

Now, if we knew in the first place that they wouldn't let Joey go on this tour it'd be ok. Disappointing but ok. However, when they tell him 2 days before we leave, and tell him that they were planning to not let him go in the first place, even though we openly discussed plans and talked about it around them for literally 2-3 months, now that's ridiculous. It's also a slap in the face to me and the rest of the guys. I sent almost 200 emails and about 150 hours of work to get this done, and now it's turned out to pretty much be pointless stress. Smith dropped $200 on a new amp and head, Kacz dropped $520 on a new amp, as a whole, $400 was dropped on new merch. Oh well, what can you do?

C'mon Bob, listen to Ryan Walsh and let your son Joey go on tour with his band!  I mean, their music's pretty good, at least if these songs are any indication.  Hell, some of my friends might even hire them for one of our crazy liberal/Mason/demon/homosexual  parties!  Whoops, I forgot, those are EXACTLY the people you're trying to protect your family against.  By the way, have you ever met someone named "Pastor John?"  Just thought you two guys might hit it off!  Ha ha.

[UPDATE 7:11 PM  Apparently there are those, primarily on the far right wing of the political spectrum, who lack a "humor gene."  So, let me spell it out for you guys: this is supposed to be FUNNY.  Get it?  Ha ha?  A bit of "satire?"  Ever hear of that?]
