Bob Kerrey and Jim Webb

I just got back from an incredible rally with Jim Webb, Bill Clinton, Mark Warner, Tim Kaine, Jim Moran, Bobby Scott, Harry Reid, Chuck Schumer, Bill Euille...and former Senator Bob Kerrey.  Seeing Senator Kerrey - a Medal of Honor recipient and one of Jim Webb's best friends - immediately brought back memories of the "Draft Webb" movement's beginnings.  Here's a particularly memorable e-mail from Senator Kerrey to me on January 7, 2006.  Tomorrow, this thing we all started 11 months ago will come to an end.  Let's make sure it ends on a great note!  Thanks.

** High Priority **

Dear Lowell,

Thanks for the note and your encouragement of Secretary Webb. I do not know Virginia well enough to speak with your confidence, but I am confident that Jim Webb is needed in the U.S. Senate today. I have been encouraging him to run and will do everything I can to help him if he decides to go for it. He is a unique and powerful voice which could change the course of our nation's future.

Unfortunately, I cannot advise what you (or I) should do to get him to do this. That's a work assignment for his remarkable heart.

Bob

Over the past 11 months I've gotten to know more about that "remarkable heart."  Tomorrow, we will elect Jim Webb to the U.S. Senate, and change the course of this country.  Thanks to Bob Kerrey for helping persuade this "unique and powerful voice" to run for Senate.

I got home from the event at 730pm (pvogel - 11/6/2006 9:56:55 PM)
WOW!  being in the front row, I got the best pix of this great campaign season!!!  I am both glad and sad its over! But this has the feeling pof xmas eve, and tomorrow night we unwrap our presents to us, the new congress!!!

Clinton slowly chatted and shook the hand of most everybody who  was there, and the charisma level is off the charts. Im kind of glad James webbs charisma level is lower,a clinton comes around only once for each generation, and for baby boomers, its been Clinton and Bush so far, and the contrast is huge.

But we knew that already?????

My sources say tomorrow nite will swiftly  become a huge wave for the democrats.

Work hard tomorrow!!!!

Paul

PS lowell, thanks for being he webrootguy for webb.
Good job!
