According to The Hook blog:

The #3 candidate in VirginiaGÇÖs madcap race for the U.S. Senate, the woman who has focused on light rail, appears to have steered her train into the camp of Democratic challenger James Webb. Appearing today at a Webb rally in Roanoke, Gail Parker said afterwards that while she wonGÇÖt technically endorse, she concedes sheGÇÖs GÇ£taking sides now.GÇ¥

GÇ£If folks canGÇÖt vote for us because weGÇÖre too conservative, then for goodness sakes, please vote for postive change,GÇ¥ says Parker following the Webb rally at Fire Station #1 in Roanoke. GÇ£By being there, I believe I lent my moral support,GÇ¥ Parker tells the Hook. GÇ£We have chosen sides. Certainly, the incumbent is not change.GÇ¥

Very interesting.  Looks like Gail "for Rail" Parker has decided to hop aboard the Webb train right before it leaves the station. All aboard! :)

I knew she would get the light rail from Webb!  It's a great idea, good energy conservative and sanity conservation (I can't believe some of the commute stories I'm hearing from NoVa residents!)

THANK YOU!  and btw, you have a very good idea and I'm sure Webb will get it done!

Her name remains on the ballot, no? So people who haven't heard her -- luke-warm at best and "cute" at worst -- "endorsment" (and how many have?) will still vote for her. And those will be votes stolen from Webb, not from Allen. Since her rating is at 2%, that may end up being all the difference that Allen might need.

I wish she'd gone on the Damascus Road 3 months ago, not now. I wish people who have only one bee in their bonnet (or only one arrow in their quiver, or...) stopped and *thought* before deciding that the pursuit of their little bandwaggon is worth wrecking a whole train.

If US had a *viable* multi-party system the way Europe does, it would have been different but, as things are, most minority parties (like Greens) and the so-called Independents are either an expression of "pox on both your houses", or else a barely veiled "cui bono?" As it was in the case of the "Green" in PA -- fully financed by Santorum, to siphon the votes off his Dem opponent. Or the Connecticut for Lieberman "Independent", which is supported mostly by the Rethugs (Karl Rove was the first one to call Joe on his losing the Dem primary. Hellooo?)
