RNC E MAIL: "Get-out-the-Vote from Home" / "The biggest midterm GOTV in history"

Hello Everyone:

Below is the latest RNC e mail titled "Get-out-the-Vote from Home" which talks about "The biggest midterm GOTV operation in history."

This is a program where people can "Just pick up the phone, log on, and use your free minutes to contact 30 Republican voters in battleground states this weekend."

Desperate appeals like this to the GOP voter base from the RNC and their superior GOTV efforts are very big reasons why we cannot take anything for granted in this election and why we still have to fight every race as hard, as tough, and as smart as we can all the way up to Tuesday regardless of what any polls look like or how badly that Bush and the GOP are messing up!
Here is what CNN documented about how effective that the Republican GOTV efforts are:

CNN LIVE EVENT/SPECIAL

Broken Government: Two Left Feet

Aired October 24, 2006 - 20:00  ET

CROWLEY: "Republicans have made a science of it.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Use these cards well and often. And they are this size so that they can go into the polling place with you.

CROWLEY: Republicans have a national database of voters, district by district by street. They know who's on the other side of the door.

KAMARCK: The Republicans are genius at finding the three Republicans in the, you know, seven blocks of Democrats, OK. This can only happen through an ongoing institution. And we've done much too much of this through fly-by-night organizations that some rich guy funds for three years, then they lose the election, they're very disappointed, the whole organization disbands and disappears and we're left with nothing.

CROWLEY: Which means no blind calls, no time wasted knocking on the doors of liberal households. Democrats, like Shuler, start from scratch. Voter turnout is a constant push."

We also need to tell disillusioned Republicans who we know that if they listen to what the RNC is saying below and if they vote for GOP rubber stamp candidates, then they are only voting for "more of the same" of what they are already upset about now with the GOP which will only get worse and they are also voting for a lack of accountability for Bush and for the GOP leadership who they are upset with!

Please forward this on so that all Democrats will know what the GOP is doing to try to motivate their disillusioned base of voters to the polls.  We have to know what the other side is doing to help the candidates who we are supporting to run the best possible campaigns!

The bottom line to this RNC e mail is that Bush and the GOP are desperately trying to avoid the real issues as well as avoiding accountability for what they are doing by keeping a GOP controlled rubber stamp Congress!

All people (especially disillusioned and moderate Republicans) have to know that a vote for ANY Republican candidate for Congress is just a vote for "more of the same" to keep the current rubber stamp GOP leadership in power who will just let Bush and Cheney do anything that they feel like doing!

Democratic candidates and Democrats in the grassroots also need to be specifically asking for the votes of disillusioned and moderate Republicans who they talk to.  You can get more votes from these people if you specifically ask for them!

Dear Mitchell,

It all comes down to this - one final weekend, millions of voter contacts, and you.

With four days to go, a handful of House and Senate races will determine control of Congress. No matter where you are, you can put us over the top in this fight. How? Just pick up the phone, log on, and use your free minutes to contact 30 Republican voters in battleground states this weekend.

http://www.GOP.com/C...

All it takes is 30 minutes to mobilize 30 fellow Republicans to vote - a minute per call. This is the final, most important action of the campaign. Will you join us this weekend?

http://www.GOP.com/C...

This election is a choice. Will we send strong leaders to Washington committed to cutting taxes, standing up for our conservative values, and protecting us here at home by fighting the terrorists abroad?

Or will we allow liberals like Nancy Pelosi, Jack Murtha, Charlie Rangel and Ted Kennedy to impose their vision of higher taxes and an America on the retreat in the War on Terror?

The outcome in a few key races could have far-reaching consequences for the future of our country. Please make sure you get involved. Just 30 minutes of your time in the final make-or-break weekend could be what makes the difference:

Now is the time to step forward and ensure that your voice is heard. Whether you're helping from your local headquarters or from home, be a part of the biggest midterm get-out-the-vote operation in history.

Thank you once again for your time and dedication,

Ken Mehlman
RNC Chairman

P.S. Turning out the vote starts with you and your neighbors. If you haven't voted early, please make sure to get out and vote Tuesday at your local polling place, and ensure that your friends and neighbors do the same. For a map and directions to your local polling place, please visit www.GOP.com/Vote or Secretary of State Website Thank you.
