Bye Bye, Bob: It's now a time for change...

From the Associated Press, we learn that Representative  - or should I say FORMER Representative - Bob Ney  (pictured here with George Allen supporter and tainted money donor, Grover Norquist) has finally resigned from the House.  Here's the kicker though.  Bob Ney pleaded guilty in the Jack Abramoff influence-peddling investigation almost a MONTH ago.  That's right, the GOP has allowed this criminal to be paid by tax-payers dollars for weeks, even after he became a criminal awaiting a jail sentence.

For once, I agree with Nancy Pelosi on something.  Her statement on the subject was right on the money, saying that "The Republican leadership has allowed Bob Ney to receive his paycheck and benefits for seven weeks after his admission of guilt to criminal conspiracy charges -- it is an embarrassment to this institution and an insult to the American taxpayer."  Now Republicans seem to feign surprise at AmericaGÇÖs disgust with the situation.  Well, I go one word for you guys.  Three letters:

D-u-h.

Seriously, how much more evidence of corruption do you need?  These guys actually let him stick around and get paid by the American tax-payer. Are you kidding me?

As a Moderate Dem, I've never been too excited with the idea of "Speaker Pelosi."  But now, every day, I say to myself that "I may not agree with her on everything politically, but sheGÇÖs GOT to be better than these complete losers.GÇ¥  Yeah, Nancy may be a bit liberal for my tastes.  But at least sheGÇÖll be honest.  And maybe, for a little while, weGÇÖll have a House Leadership that isnGÇÖt a complete embarrassment.

Bob Ney is just one of the multiple Republicans forced to resign from Congress in shame.  He now joins the ranks of Tom DeLay, Duke Cunningham, and Mark Foley.  If you are sick of this shameful behavior, and I know I am, then itGÇÖs time for change.  ItGÇÖs time to put a party to work that is focused on the people.  Not on massive corporations, not on personal power, but on the will of the average American.

Vote Democratic on November 7th

Great pictures, with Grover Norquist going down next.  Do you have pictures with Grover of other VA Repubs?  We'd love to see some of our favorite NoVA R's going down the same bathtub drain with Grover et al.

You forgot the Abramoff pictures (Rebecca - 11/4/2006 2:53:49 PM)
There are many pictures of Grover "The Tax Nut" Norquist with Jack Abramoff. Norquist's organization was one of those which was used to launder Jack's money (Remember the Indian tribes?) which was then doled out to Republican candidates.

Old Grover is also responsible for the free trade and flat tax policies in Iraq which have resulted in 60% unemployment. Its not that they have no plan, its just that they are REALLY, REALLY stupid which translates to REALLY REALLY dangerous.

And, oh course, they are CROOKS!
