I received this from Jen Little from the Mathews County Dems.  Thanks!

The Three Olives Restaurant in Williamsburg was packed last night with supporters of Jim Webb & Shawn O'Donnell.

I was quite pleasantly surprised by the turn out!  It was packed!

I had to squeeze to the front, being petite and all, to take these pictures, and to see more than the backs of fellow supporters.  I am so appreciative to those who made room for me at the front.

There was so much positive energy in the room!

I am not sure I have ever experienced anything like it!  Truly amazing!

Jim Webb and Shawn O+óGé¼GäóDonnell were both so full of vigor and provided the energy to all as we head to the final stretch.

I would like to thank the Chairs of all the local Democratic Committees and the Young Democrats for the fabulous turnout of and overwhelmingly successful event!!!

Great job Williamsburg, James City County, and York County Democrats!

Jen Little

This is great (TurnVirginiaBlue - 11/2/2006 3:31:49 PM)
It appears VA is getting to know Jim Webb and they like what they see!

Good news!  That's certainly what happened to me.

The more Virginia get s to know Webb... (Lowell - 11/2/2006 4:33:24 PM)
...the more they like him.

In contrast, the more they get to know the REAL George Allen (as opposed to the phony version he's been pulling off for years now), the LESS they like him.  Thus, the trends in polling #s - up for Webb, down for Allen.

So very true (libra - 11/3/2006 12:47:32 AM)

It really is amazing, how people react to Webb, once they see him.

I went to a little event nearby (Buena Vista, shortly after the Labor Day) just to "see for myself" and left a total "convert" :) Then, a week or so later, I had to drag my husband to a rally/fundraiser here -- he wasn't happy about Webb's prior party, even less so about his having worked for Reagan, and was totally livid about Webb's endorsement of Allen in '00.

But... He went, he saw, and he was conquered, just as I had been :) As an academic, he appreciates intelligence. As someone who was introduced to me as "The Last Gentleman of the South", he appreciates honor. And Webb showed both.

If it weren't that this last stretch is hard on my nerves as it is, I could almost wish that the Elections were another 2-3 weeks off, so that more people would get a chance to "see for themselves"...

Must have been nice (Newport News Dem - 11/2/2006 7:00:27 PM)
to be inside for the event since I was part of the 100 or so in the parking lot who failed to get in the restaurant!!!!!

Somebody had to hang with Mac by the RV......

Sorry :( (Jen Little - 11/2/2006 9:15:21 PM)
I got VERY lucky with the help of some friends or I would have been outside too.

You know who you are - my travel mate - THANK YOU!

Again I was VERY impressed with the turnout given the short amount of time from organization to event!

Goes to show you, people are excited about Jim Webb & Shawn O'Donnell in Virginia's First Congressional District.

Yeah... (Liberal Pi - 11/2/2006 7:13:55 PM)
I got stuck outside too, but it was well worth it to finally see Jim in person. The final head count was almost 400 inside. It was a great event though.
