Great Debate (Gordie - 11/2/2006 1:14:41 PM)
Glad to see you there Don. It was a great debate. As usual I heard most of the same stuff from Virgil, except he is sure changing his tune on Iraq. He finally got the too late message, that Iraq is a bum deal and we need an exit stratagey.
Oddo was his comical self and the students sure get a kick out of his jabs and spin on rails.
Yes, Al was on target, even with his sore throat and flu like symptoms. His voice faded a little at the end,but still stayed on target.
After the debate went to Graham Hall with the Young Democrats. Al was great there also, answering all the questions with authority and knowledge. Two past Virgil backers where there and they said "they never saw Virgil squirm so much and he was sweating quite a bit". Two more who switched their vote to Al Weed.

A laughable moment was when Suiling (Next 5th District First Lady) and I were trying to find Graham Hall in the dark. We went to one building I looked thru the door and there was a sign. Republican rally for Virgil Goode. The funny part was under neath that sign which said "Give Blood". Seems even the young Republicans can see what is going on.
At the debate not a single young Republican would take a "Vote for Al Weed on Nov. 7th" pencil.
We all know students always need pencils.
