Republican Leader Says Don't Blame Rumsfeld, Blame the Generals

See here.  Nice, huh?  Sort of like when they blamed the soldiers for Abu Ghraib, but not the chain of command leading up to Rumsfeld, Cheney and Bush.  And CERTAINLY not the private contractors like Halliburton, KBR, CACI, etc. who are allowed to run amok in Iraq.  Republican values, again...power ahead of principle, profits ahead of people.

Snarky line on Fark.com (PM - 11/1/2006 11:13:10 PM)

www.fark.com reports the news (along with lots of strange news stories); writers get to write subheadlines making fun of the originals.  This one is from today:

"Bush announces he won't fire Cheney or Rumsfeld. Because nobody gets to fire their bosses."

Yeah, this is outrageous (TurnVirginiaBlue - 11/1/2006 11:14:16 PM)
Abu Ghraib was just unreal that no one was held accountable up the chain of command.

Yet we have Allen trying to twist Webb's words on Tailhook.

I was watching Lou Dobbs today and he also seems to want to blame the generals and I find this completely ridiculous since so many retired generals are speaking out almost in a desperate "jaw clutching" prose that is saying clearly it's Rumsfeld, Bush and Cheney.

Why do they show so much disrespect to our military?

Why? (libra - 11/1/2006 11:45:43 PM)
Why do they show so much disrespect to our military?

Because they don't give a damn about anyone or anything other than themselves and their (deep) pockets? Being, most of them, "armchair soldiers"?

A wonderful new ad from VoteVets.org, featuring Wes Clark among others, shows a different POV.

I haven't sent them much (don't have much *to* send), but it's  money well spent :) And I envy those of you who'll see both Clark and Fox stumping for Webb tomorrow... *What* a trio...

PS Speaking of "stumping"... At least one of the stories (I see clips only; don't watch TV) seems to have presented the Attack of Allen's Allies (on the Blogger with a Backpack) as *stomping* for votes... Intentional pun or inadvertent mis-spelling, it was very accurate :)

NOW can we stop obsessing about Kerry (Catzmaw - 11/1/2006 11:31:31 PM)
and look at what an administration hatchet man is saying about our military leaders?  This guy is totally outrageous.

Never Mind Blame Game-- If They Care , Show the MONEY.... (BlueDog - 11/1/2006 11:54:07 PM)
Hey-- If Bush & Co. cares, let them show the money, honey!

If they truly want to stand up and show respect for our troops in harms way===> They should send proper equipment, proper protective vests for those on patrol, proper shielding for humvees and all the other equipment they need - NOT just what contractors want to provide them.  Send what they need!

If they care about taxpayers and about the US economy, really care, then why aren't they auditing contracts and why isn't Capitol Hill maxed out with Hearings to investigate possible contract abuses, fraud, waste of taxpayer money?

Rummy's not the problem. (loboforestal - 11/2/2006 12:26:28 AM)
Bush is.
