The next seven days

The election is close and Jim's message is resonating across the state. What started as a dream  of trying to draft Jim into the race, that crystalized as Jim got the nomination, that built up as Webb made up ground is now within our grasp.

Jim is poised to beat George Allen.

We are 7 days from getting a Senator who will change the direction of our country.

I'm sure many of you, like me, are starting to taste victory.

BUT WE CAN'T LET OUR GUARD DOWN!
We are seven days away and we all need to work like we're seven points down. We need to give every dollar, knock on every door, call every house, and attend every rally we can.

As a college student, I've had the luxury of taking a semester off to work for Jim in the Richmond office. For me, it has been an incredible blessing and a learning experience that I cannot put into words. After toiling in typical summer jobs of bagging groceries at Ukrops and working as an intern in at a communications office, I can't describe how rewarding it is to work on something you truly care about. I go to bed tired every night but wake up every morning fired up to keep on fighting. Win or lose (and if we work, it will be win!) doing what I can for Jim Webb to win has been one of the best experiences of my life. The Right Wing Bloggers mocked us for so long for drinking the Webb "Kool-Aid", but I have to say, it's tasting mighty sweet right now.

For the rest of you, family, jobs, and bills have to come first and I know how much that may limit your committment. But I'm pleading with all of you to give whatever you can and do whatever you can. To keep you fighting on as we get closer and you get tired, don't consider what you're doing to be a sacrifice. The energy and time you devout to Jim these next seven days are an investment in our country's future.

It's an investment in making America safe.

An investment in ending the Karl Rove era of politics.

An investment in restoring the balance of power in our country.

An investment in giving Americans someone in Washington who won't sell them out for a corporate lobbyist.

Most importantly, it's an invesment in replacing politics as usual with a public servant unlike any other.

You have seven days to bust your ass and then six years to savor having someone like Jim Webb in office that will fight for what we beleive in.

It's time to take our country back.

It's time to take a stand.

It's time to get to work.

NOW GET OUT THERE AND GET MOVING!!!

***A special notice to those of you reading this in the Richmond area: I want to see those of you I know and those of you I haven't meet yet around the office and working hard!
