Has the "A-Team" Thrown in the Towel?

The "A-Team blog's last post was on October 27.  That's FOUR days ago; rather odd for the last week of tight election campaign.  What's going on over there? Why aren't they busy smearing Jim Webb...er, lying...er, slandering...er, promoting their candidate's "positive, constructive ideas" for Virginia."  Whoops, that's right, Allen doesn't HAVE any "positive, constructive ideas" for Virginia.  Or anything to report with regard to his record in the Senate.  Maybe THAT explains the crickets chirping over at "A-Team" headquarters?

Lowell Feld is Netroots Coordinator for the Jim Webb for US Senate Campaign.  The ideas expressed here belong to Lowell Feld alone, and do not represent those of Jim Webb, his advisors, staff, or supporters.

Maybe they were fired ??? Lack of performance, Maybe???? (Used2Bneutral - 10/31/2006 7:35:30 AM)
And I doubt any of them would work for the same salaries we all are.... well, except Lowell of course.... :)

Can they collect un-employment Assurance ?? (I didn't mispell, honest I meant it that way)

They have moved to shredding from blogging (Arlington Tom - 10/31/2006 7:38:42 AM)
With a loss looming next week, they must be each shredding full-time now :)

I'm glad they are gone. (Kathy Gerber - 10/31/2006 7:49:56 AM)
And with one week left we have the chance to talk about real issues.  And when you think about it, that in itself is an issue.  It's irresponsible to avoid real problems and concerns until we're right upon election eve.  Maybe that was the whole point?

Don't count them out yet... (Arturo - 10/31/2006 9:53:12 AM)
I'd say they will be back, some time at the end of the week.  It was a tough weekend for them, what with conservatives being offended by Allen's book reviews, the latest poll results, Webb's enthusiastic reception by thousands of Virginians all over the state, etc.  They are hurting.

Well. (Kathy Gerber - 10/31/2006 10:02:08 AM)
If you are correct, we have 2-4 days to discuss the real issues.

They were hurting Allen (Brian - 10/31/2006 8:09:44 AM)
I would say that the Allen folks realized that most of the crap they were putting out on that blog was really hurting the campaign.

It was likely responsible for some of Allen's decline in recent polls.

Ironic, from the same bozos who said RK (Lowell - 10/31/2006 8:31:02 AM)
was "killing the Kaine campaign" last year.  Then, this year, they kept saying how the "nutroots" (uh, look in the mirror guys!) was killing the Webb campaign.

So, how are those predictions working out for ya?

They called us (phriendlyjaime - 10/31/2006 8:38:22 AM)
an asylum too.

Hehehehehehehe....

Lowell, they must have been trolling RK. (phriendlyjaime - 10/31/2006 11:13:15 AM)
They have heeded your call, and are posting again.

It's tripe of course, but a posting nonetheless.

I love this comment (Lowell - 10/31/2006 8:14:33 AM)
Heehee.

Jim and Riley,
Come out, come out wherever you are. Has the A-Team gone to an undisclosed location? Now is the time to put up several posts a day. Instead we are stuck with three day old stuff that was funny the first time we saw it, but looks dated now. You may be curled in a ball crying in a corner over all the polls, but it would be great to get some updates. At least Chad is still posting at Commonwealth Conservative.

One of its "Sixers," Greg Pollowitz, prints Mary Matalin's attack but heads it with a link to the whole debate on Raising Kaine:

The pro-Webb blog RaisingKaine has posted Mary Matalin's attack on Jim Webb, as well as Webb's response.  Good stuff.

I think we just got some NRO readers.

The A Team is now ripping signs down.... (bladerunner - 10/31/2006 11:12:31 AM)
at least around here. I think his hit team has been cruising around Fairfax and knocking signs down--mainly cause they're pissed off Allen's now being seen for what he is. We must work hard all the way to the end. Go Webb.

I noticed a whole bunch of Webb signs (Catzmaw - 10/31/2006 1:19:50 PM)
gone from the side of the road on Rte 7 between Baileys Crossroads and Seven Corners. They took the signs and left the metal frames standing.  There must be about ten gone.  Oddly enough they left the Moran signs.

AAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHA! (phriendlyjaime - 10/31/2006 11:19:56 AM)
They're talking again, and they are pulling the same crap that lost them points!  Calling Jim Webb a pedophile and claiming he has a facebook page (which everyone here knows that someone else set it up, duh) where he is "looking" for friends.

They just don't learn.  And VA Conservative bloggers like Republitarian are asking the question; why are they hurting Allen so much?

Idiots.

They've pretty much killed their candidate (Lowell - 10/31/2006 11:20:49 AM)
And they never learn.

Actually Riley is back to work this morning . . . (JC - 10/31/2006 11:34:39 AM)
busily applying a fresh coat of sleaze to the Allen campaign.

I think that the A-Team site was a really interesting failed experiment.  The wing nut attack dogs took over the site very early and just crowded out the conservative bloggers who wantedto talk about issues.

Food for thought and I'm sure we'll be discussing it in the weeks to come in the context of why Allen's all-star campaign failed so miserably.

They are getting ready (tokatakiya - 10/31/2006 12:06:33 PM)
to seemlessly shift to Allen's Presidential campaign.

HA!

i have four signs (pvogel - 10/31/2006 3:47:44 PM)
If I catch an allen folk taking my webb signs from my yard, that will make him a tresspasser, and  i will detain him for arrest by alexandrias finest
