This weekend Frank(ing) Wolf's campaign began running a misleading ad which distorts Judy's positions on Health Care and Transportation.

As Feder Gains Momentum Wolf Gets Desperate and Goes Negative

Sterling, VA GÇô Congressman Frank WolfGÇÖs first TV ad of the 2006 election cycle reveals growing panic about his bid for reelection. An independent poll shows Feder closing the gap to just 5 points, and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee just yesterday added Virginia 10th Congressional District to its GÇ£Red-to-BlueGÇ¥ list of the nationGÇÖs strongest challengers. In response, Frank Wolf has taken a page directly out of the 2006 Republican playbook and launched a misleading negative ad that distorts FederGÇÖs record. WolfGÇÖs negative ad hit the airwaves Saturday morning and brings the politics of fear to the 10th District Congressional race.

GÇ£WolfGÇÖs ad is the clearest indication yet that his campaign is free falling and has been for weeks. Why else would a 26-year incumbent who prides himself on GÇÿrunning positive campaignsGÇÖ go so blatantly negative?GÇ¥ said FederGÇÖs campaign manager, Scott Arceneaux. GÇ£Judy is excited that Frank Wolf has decided to make health care a prominent issue in this race. She is proud of the fact that 13 years ago she was part of an effort to address the health care crisis in America, an effort that was blocked by people like Frank Wolf.  At least she tried, which is in stark contract to Frank Wolf who has done nothing of substance to address health care in his 26-year career that has seen the crisis snowball out of control.  Frank WolfGÇÖs idea of addressing the health care crisis is attacking those who have tried to reach bipartisan solutions while using federal tax dollars for giveaways to HMOs and drug companies.GÇ¥

Feder, one of the nationGÇÖs leading healthcare advocates, has won bipartisan praise for her integrity, non-ideological approach, and commitment to finding solutions to AmericaGÇÖs healthcare crisis. GÇ£She does not come with strong ideological baggage,GÇ¥ said former Republican Senate staffer John Rother, who is now Legislative Director of the AARP. As for WolfGÇÖs assertion that Feder GÇ£has no planGÇ¥ on transportation, Arceneaux said, GÇ£Frank Wolf has never taken time to check the factsGÇöwhether it is on the issue of stem cell research or Iraq.  Judy has had a three-part plan to address traffic and promote smart growth on her issues page and has for months. And if voters pay a similar visit to Frank WolfGÇÖs website, theyGÇÖre going to ask, GÇÿWhy doesnGÇÖt he say anything about Iraq?GÇÖ GÇ¥
