The Allen campaign really has to be pleased with this . . . (JC - 10/29/2006 12:32:36 PM)
Imagine how hard they had to work to defeat Katherine Harris.  Harris is running on a platform of destroying the wall between church and state and is, in general, a raving lunatic.

Allen's avisors really had to burn the midnight oil to make her look good by comparison.

Yeah, it's truly amazing. (Lowell - 10/29/2006 1:07:22 PM)
Dick Wad(hams) and Scott "Hitler Ad" Howell should be in great demand after this fiasco!

On Another Note (Mark - 10/29/2006 3:26:25 PM)
Ben Tribbet would have us believe that Al Weed has the worst campaign in Virginia.

He is entitled to his opinion, but he looks like a total ass when he does these sorts of things. As a supporter of Al Weed, I take offense at this, especially after the melting train wreck that is the Allen campaign.

As I said recently:

"Everybody thinks Granpa is crazy, but they all turn to look when he drops his pants and dances."

When Ben started 'threatening' to make shit up about Al Weed and keep it up until the election, I stopped reading him. His bread and circuses act is very stale, and his manipulation of even his own readers is beyond the pale.

It goes to show if you make a big enough ass of yourself, at least some people will look at you and pay attention. That is what he is all about, attention.

Thanks for nothing, Ben.

GO AL WEED AND JIM WEBB!!

I strongly support Al Weed. He is a man of great (Lowell - 10/29/2006 3:31:05 PM)
integrity, honor, courage and intelligence. He outclasses the corrupt and unimpressive Virgil Goode by light years.  I strongly urge the people of the 5th District to think hard about this and to cast their votes for Al Weed. That is, if they want a real change in Washington DC.

I wouldn't worry about it. Defeating Goode would be a no-brainer in NOVA, but that is not the case here.  Whatever the outcome Al and his campaign have made enormous strides in strengthening the Democratic party in the 5th, and even parts of the 6th.

For starters, many more people in the northern parts of the district as well as across the state have a much deeper appreciation of the economic difficulties in the southern part of our district.

I don't put too much store in those who are quasi-particpants whether it's because they are in other areas or late to the game.

As for myself, there are indeed some Democrats who don't inspire me, but I just don't have a burning need to share that with the world. Al Weed is definitely not one of them.  I have a deep respect for him and truly appreciate the work he has done.  That goes for the staff members I know as well.

Good to know (libra - 10/29/2006 8:36:25 PM)
that our favorite macaca has won *something*. Should be a nice consolation prize on Nov 8. That, and a banana :)
