Up-Grading Virginia to a 21st Century State

Virginia is not just another State in our Union, It's our Home.I've watched this State grow, Many of us know the history of our hometowns not from books but from our Grandparents,the people born in the late 1890's and early 1900's, our parents born in the 1920's and early 1930's. The Railroad job boom, the coal trains from West Virginia heating our schools, factories and homes, the Interstate highway in the 1960's and 1970's. Virginia has also seen an explosion in population growth over the last 20 years which means we will need to take water,sewage,electricity,traffic,schools and hospitals and nursing home reforms a little bit more serious than George Allen has. In a Wet State like Virginia Conservation is a very serious issue because of floods due to a lack of Watersheds (Natural flood Control like forest near rivers and creeks must be preserved.)This is ain't tree hugging hippy stuff, this is real flood control. As contractors build more new housing on old Watersheds, flood damage increases meaning these lands should be zoned for small to medium businesses only. These lands can be used to bring back factory jobs to Virginia in a "Global War on Poverty" program to use Federal Funds such as USAID, UN Funds, even Defense Budget Peace Dividends (the Biggest Chunk of the Tax Revenues Spent)Folks we did this factory job boom in World War Two, only then we were building mass ships and airplanes. In Roanoke we made Military Parachutes in the Old Viscoe Factory, In Radford, Virginia they made Ammunition and anti-aircraft shells during the early to mid 1940's.Folks I've lived in the Mideast,been to Eastern Europe and Asia. From Palestine to Kosovo to Iraq to Old Soviet Union States there is extreme Poverty, We are fighting Poverty with military hardware.Last Winter in the Pakistan earthquake children had no shoes in the snow and their main concern was their livestock because they feared starvation,In Africa they have no water or food or shelter.In Darfur,Sudan they bake in the sun. The Mexican Citizens are forced by Poverty to come to America because of Corrupt American Business and Mexican government Joint-Venture Business Deals paying dirt poor slave wages. The NATO General in Afghanistan said there can be no peace in Afghanistan without an modern Economy.Military Engineers in Afghanistan paving roads through the Afghan Mountains brings peace. We can rebuild our Virginia Economy with modern Electric Grids,Communication Grids and State Wide Water Pipelines (Flood and Drought control) and A Norfolk and Southern Rail Solution for shipping containers. I support the Norfolk and Southern Rail Solution because it's a modern Traffic Up-grade of Virginia Highways. Folks by shipping a pair of "Made in Virginia" basic summer or basic winter shoes or a eye-glasses made in Virginia or teeth or artificial limbs made in Virginia abroad to poverty areas will create more peace than the NEO-CONS will ever dream.These people are dirt poor. Helping the poor is a Christian thing to do within our American Values. It's a smart thing to do in USA relations.If we don't fight the Global War on Poverty Abroad, expect to see more immigrants migrating to Virginia in the next 10 years. They have no choice. It's called self-preservation and survival.We can have a World War Two factory Job Boom fighting the Global War on Poverty or we can stay the current domestic course of a declining economy and keep fooling ourselves that immigration has nothing to do with Global Poverty. Folks forget all that propaganda about democracy and freedom in Iraq. Iraq is a very rich country BUT an Economical Class Warfare State. Saddam's hometown and tribe support him to this very day because they lived very good compared to other Iraqis. The main Iraqi economy feeds off of Oil (75%) so this mean in economical terms Iraq must be a fair equal socialist economical state. Soldiers are not trained in Nation Building, Nation Building is Political between The USA State Department and Iraq Politicians. Once Cheney and Chalabi let go of Iraq's Oil Dream, then theses Revenues can rebuild Iraq until then no more USA Tax Revenues for Iraq.
