Webb raised $1.35 million during first 18 days of October
ROANOKE, Va.

Democratic Senate candidate Jim Webb raised one-point-three-five (m) million-dollars from individual donors during the first 18 days of October.

That's more than double the amount raised by his opponent, Republican Senator George Allen.

I might like to see (libra - 10/27/2006 12:57:01 AM)
a breakdown (who contributed and how much) but, in general, it  means to me more than polls, since I suspect it's mostly dibs-and-drabs from indiviuals in Webb's case. Which, in turn, means he has a strong grass (and net ) root support. A lot of people cannot afford to send more than $10 or so, so it takes a lot of contributions to build up into anuything sizeable. But, when it comes to voting... Everyone still has but one stick with which to hit your opponent :)

He needs it.  Seems like the smear machine has pulled out all of the stops.

RE: Cash on hand numbers? (JPTERP - 10/27/2006 11:19:14 AM)
I understand that Webb spent $2.3 million during this period while Allen spent over $4 million during the same period (via NPR this morning).

Thanks to Allen's damage control spending in the NoVA TV market, I suspect we are pretty close to 1 to 1 cash on hand at this point.  Just a guess though.

Does anyone have hard numbers for this?
