Nope. That was not a typo. Early, walk-in voting is now going on in Virginia as of two weeks ago and tomorrow (Thursday the 26th) and next Thursday (November 3rd) Virginia DMV offices will be open for voters until 7:00pm. Remember, If your total time at work or school including the total back and forth commute takes 11 hours, you can walk into your local Virginia DMV and vote early. In heavily progressive Northern Virginia, someone's commute to work, like mine, can take a grand total of 4 hours on the I-95 mainline so that with the standard 8 hour workday, you're easily looking at 11-12 hours combined.
Also, if you just found out you may be out of town on election day, you can walk in and vote early. With the Webb-Allen Senate race going on this election cycle, the lines at polling stations around NOVA might start looking like they did in Cleveland, OH two years ago, discouraging some people from casting their ballots. With our little advertised opportunity to flood the polling places before the election, we can make sure not just us but our pro-Webb friends and families also get the chance to have their votes cast as well before giving up on a long line at the polling place.

If you can't make it tomorrow or next Thursday, the DMV offices are open every other day of the week until 5PM at your local DMV.

And don't forget, you don't have to wait in the regular line.  There is a separate line available for voting and it took me all of 5 minutes to go through the whole process last Thursday.
