Another Fib On George Allen's Legislative Resume

Omigosh!  George Allen is blogging!

Well, sort of.  Allen has an article up on Red State talking about how heGÇÖs a friend of the taxpayer.
http://www.redstate....

The Federal Funding Accountability And Transparency Act of 2006 was signed into law on September 26th, 2006, creating a searchable database of federal grants and contracts so that, beginning in 2008, citizens can go online to see exactly how and where the Federal Government is spending their money. That means greater transparency and accountability for American taxpayers. I was proud to be a sponsor of that bill.

Another example of me-tooism?  You be the judge.  The bill was introduced by Tom Coburn on April 6.  According to the Elizabeth L. Wright, the Vice President for Government Affairs for the conservative leaning Citizens Against Government Waste (note: there are current allegations that CAGW has been in cahoots with Grover Norquist) the main movers were Tom Coburn and Barack Obama. http://www.cagw.org/...  Obama, Obama, that name sounds familiar.  Oh, heGÇÖs the guy who endorsed Jim Webb.

Here are the actual sponsorship dates:

George is such a leader. Taking credit as a sponsor when he was ONE OF 47!

But then he has almost no legislative resume to speak of, and he has to grasp at straws.

I canGÇÖt criticize George Allen completely, though.  He was, after all, an original sponsor for Designating July 22, 2006, as `National Day of the American Cowboy'.  http://thomas.loc.go...
