George Allen Fails our Troops

The Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA) gives George Allen a grade of D+.

The IAVA counted every Congressional vote cast on IAVA issues (from body armor to VA funding) for the last five years, crunched the numbers, and gave every legislator a letter grade - the IAVA Congressional Rating.

It is every American's responsibility to ensure that our Troops and Veterans get the support they need and deserve. George Allen's D+ voting record proves that he has failed in his most important duty.

Virginia and Virginia's Veterans cannot afford to  stay the course with George Allen.

Here are the ratings by grade... (Loudoun County Dem - 10/24/2006 7:24:05 PM)

I guess Allen can claim he is tied for sixth... among Repugs!!! So is Warner.

This chart is devastating to the repugs claims that they 'Support Our Troops'...
Every Democrat is rated above the highest ranking repug!!!

Allen also Fails According to Disabled Vets (charcoal - 10/24/2006 7:30:35 PM)
Allen also scored a meager 60% score from the Disabled American Veterans.

With friends like George...

I should have said, with friends like George Allen ...

IAVA scorecard (libra - 10/25/2006 2:15:43 AM)
"The Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA) gives George Allen a grade of D+." sez charcoal

"Allen doesn't protect our troops", sez IAVA

Yes... But... But... But...

Allen votes "right" (in both senses of the word) where it *really matters* -- on family values; he protects *them*. He (and all of the VA's *Republican* House Delegates, BTW) got the *perfect 100* score from the Family Research Council/Focus on the Family Action.

*Every* cockamamie notion they ever had -- "defend" the flag (from burning), "defend" marriage (by bashing gays), "defend" the sancity of life (you're protected until you're born; afterwards, you're on your own, until you're killled by the state), then "defend" it some more (no stem cell research; go to hell, Foxy)... You name it, Allen voted in support of it.

No wonder, he had no energy left to lift his hand and vote less vital issues, like support of the troops. Especially since voting in support of the troops would have required putting the money where your mouth is and voting for *funds* (and where's the money to come from?). While voting for constitutional amendments (on the flag, or marriage, for example) is prime lip-service time, with no consequences...

Pfui. If I chewed tobacco (instead of smoking it ), I'd spit at his cowboy boots.

They love the fetus (charcoal - 10/25/2006 6:37:36 AM)
As radio commentator Randi Rhodes often says, right-wingers and pro-lifers "love the fetus, hate the child".  Once the birth occurs, the right-wing turns its back -- but as long as it's in the womb they make it their business.

Tom Davis fails vets, too (Andrea Chamblee - 10/25/2006 10:02:27 AM)
Only Randy Forbes is lower in VA. From the DAV

IVAA rated him mediocre, with 214 legislators better than he is.

You can bet Andy Hurst would do better by our troops. Donate to and volunteer for Andy Hurst today!
