Awesome (Silver Fox - 10/22/2006 2:36:59 PM)
Awesome is right.  Hope it gets airtime on tv, not just on YouTube.

I like it (TurnVirginiaBlue - 10/22/2006 2:49:20 PM)
Allen is a tool of Bush corporation, hell any corporation.

Where did this come from? (Teddy - 10/22/2006 3:25:17 PM)
And, more important, where is this going... to be shown? There is no attribution. It's too sharp to be a DSCC product. Have any information, Todd? What can we do to get this on television in Virginia?

If you click on the YouTube logo... (Todd Smyth - 10/22/2006 3:56:47 PM)
it goes to the YouTube page and shows it's by something called ActionAds.  But there is no more info.  You can go there and ask them to respond.

Loved it (Catzmaw - 10/22/2006 3:36:51 PM)
I've been saying in all the blogs that Allen's a yes-man and this says it so much better.

Hands down the best ad of the season!!!!!! (asnider999 - 10/22/2006 3:47:10 PM)
Don't wait for TV...send it to everyone in your address book!

I'm not sure it'll be on TV (DanG - 10/22/2006 4:18:36 PM)
Seeing as this ad doesn't have an endorsement at the end, it doesn't appear that it was funded by Webb for Senate.  Seems to be an independent ad.

This needs to go viral! (Greg - 10/22/2006 5:18:54 PM)
Forward the link to your entire address book, with some text to the effect of:

Talented Folks (Rebecca - 10/22/2006 7:22:52 PM)
Keep the talented folks who made this ad. We need more like this.

How do I do this? (libra - 10/22/2006 9:00:01 PM)

I don't want to forward it to my entire address book -- I have  lots of correspondents in Europe and Oz, who couldn't care less about US politics (esp "local" ones), but, if the ad's not going to run on TV, I would like to forward it to "selected few". But, being 'puter-illiterate, I don't know how to. Is there a direct You-Tube URL somewhere where I don't see it?

Regarding authorship: I too would like to know who made the ad and who's paying for it. It reminds me a bit of the ad I saw a few days ago -- I think on TPMCafe/Election Central (but won't swear to it; might have been here ) -- both in its playfulness (sense of humor) and it's powerful, serious "punch value".

The other ad (and I can't remember who made it or who was paying for it, either) had a series of people coming up to a bush -- planted in the middle of a city greensward -- and asking questions (about taxes, about Iraq, about all our concerns). Needless to say, the bush didn't answer any of them (not Moses' bush, afterall ), and each of the people asking questions would leave unsatisfied. Then the picture shifted to the Prex and the punchline went something like "you can get as many answers from this bush as from that one"

The blog-commentary on the ad (as I remember it) said that it had been crafed not by "the usual suspects" (political pundits), but by some professional advertising firm, used to *selling* "product" (instead of just promoting it). This ad (above) has some of the same hallmarks...

"Share" on YouTube (Greg - 10/22/2006 11:21:35 PM)
You can use the "share" button on YouTube -- it pops up a screen where you can enter miltiple email addresses for the ad  link to be forwarded to.

Never mind... (libra - 10/22/2006 9:02:24 PM)
I now see there's a direct URL right under the screen. Duh :) Let's hope I can "harvest" it

BEST EVER (Nichole - 10/23/2006 11:19:46 AM)
yes, ever!

That's great (thegools - 10/23/2006 5:41:48 PM)
How do we get that on the air?

Go With It (norman swingvoter - 10/23/2006 7:11:26 PM)
I think this ad has the potential of sticking in people's mind as they go into the polls.  I hope that it can be run in Virginia.  This is outstanding.
