More great news from the Webb campaign...
The Rev. Curtis Harris, a former Civil Rights marcher with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and a founder of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, today endorsed Jim Webb for United States Senate.

GÇ£Jim Webb is a strong leader who cares deeply about civil rights and the issues most important to the people of Virginia. He has been an outspoken opponent of the war in Iraq even before it started, and is committed to creating more job opportunities for hardworking Virginians. In contrast, George Allen has never shown any sign of leadership or independent thought, especially on issues concerning African-Americans,GÇ¥ said Rev. Harris.

Rev. Harris, a member of the Hopewell City Council, was first elected to the City Council in 1986. In 1994, he was elected Vice Mayor, and in 1998 he made history by being elected the first African-American Mayor of Hopewell.

GÇ£For his entire life, Reverend Harris has worked to inject the concepts of fairness and justice into our society. As a civil rights leader and an elected official, his accomplishments and dedication are inspiring to us all. IGÇÖm honored to receive his support,GÇ¥ said Jim Webb.

Especially the way he dealt with the KKK.
