It was a great Jim Webb event in Washington, VA, the town that George Washington surveyed. Jim talked about his policy ideas for dealing with the mess in Iraq. A lot of people had a great time in the country -- and Ben "Cooter" Jones had his say too!

Enjoy, Roadette

That was terrific!! (Rebecca - 10/15/2006 8:47:39 PM)
Will this be made into a TV add for the Southern part of the state?

Great video! (Ingrid - 10/15/2006 9:53:42 PM)
And great music!  It's nice to hear bluegrass music being played at a Webb event.

Who knew Cooter could sing (Catzmaw - 10/15/2006 10:08:12 PM)
Would love to see this play in the mountains and down the Shenandoah.

Terrific!! (summercat - 10/16/2006 8:26:31 AM)
Thanks, Roadette!!

An amazing crowd (Glant - 10/16/2006 2:00:57 PM)
Those who think Jim won't beat Allen in rural Virginia are in for a big surprise.

I spent the weekend in the area around Mineral, very close to where the Allen deer hunting incident is supposed to have occured.  We saw only two Allen signs, and at least twice as many Webb signs.  Not many signs, to be sure, but we saw a lot more Kilgore signs in that area last year.

My family in the Shenandoah Valley keep telling me... (Loudoun County Dem - 10/16/2006 2:41:35 PM)
...how amazed they are at both the number of Webb signs and the LACK of Allen signs...

All of the anecdotal evidence I am seeing here in Loudoun County and hearing from other parts of Virginia are not squaring with the polls (even more so than last year). I wonder if the 'likely voter' formulae that pollsters are using will be significantly off this year.

I bet you the pollsters aren't measuring "likely voters" (Lowell - 10/16/2006 7:29:03 PM)
very well this year.  Democrats are psyched and Republicans are, rightfully, demoralized that their party has completely abandoned its conservative principles (and used Evangelicals while calling them names).

Yes, I was puzzled (Catzmaw - 10/17/2006 12:23:57 AM)
at the Washington Post poll saying that the Webb supporters are less enthusiastic than Allen supporters (??).  Am I missing something here?  When I talk to Webb supporters they all seem pretty psyched to me.
