October 28, 1972:

AllenGÇÖs "most embarrassing moment" came during a football game between Virginia and Maryland.  Maryland Beat UVA 24-23.  Starting at quarterback, he threw five second-half interceptions, allowing the Terrapins to come from behind and trounce Virginia. [Washington Times, 10/26/93; UVA Football Record Book]

Hopefully, the Cavaliers will have better luck today, with Jameel Sewell at QB, than they did with George Allen at the helm 34 years ago!

Allen sucks at football!!!

Maybe this is why he doesn't like turtles. (loboforestal - 10/14/2006 5:15:59 PM)
I guess the Terrapins left a bad taste in his mouth.

LOVE IT. (phriendlyjaime - 10/14/2006 5:56:09 PM)
Out of all the shit that has come out about Allen, you and I know that he is most pissed about being called a crappy football player.

Racism?  Not a big deal.  Bad catcher/thrower/all around joke of a player?  GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR...

No subppoena from Tom Davis? (Andrea Chamblee - 10/14/2006 7:53:49 PM)
Didn't Tom Davis threaten to get involved with local TV rights on baseball?  I'd prefer he'd get involved with Iraq and pay more attention to Abramoff, but that'll never happen.

Anyway, I don't think we need a subpoena to learn that no one gets along with Angelos. Now, ComCast Cable is fighting Angelos, so our game was not on TV today.

I'd does sounds like there'll be lots of highlights.

And history repeats itself... (Loudoun County Dem - 10/14/2006 10:31:20 PM)
WaPo recap of today's game

After spotting rival Virginia a 20-point lead during a dismal first-half performance, the Terrapins capitalized on several Cavaliers mistakes to take a 28-26 victory in front of 59,367 at Scott Stadium.

Bad omen for Allen???

If you check the Sagarin Ratings (Chris from ASL - 10/15/2006 6:28:55 AM)
they would have UVa. as the fourth best football team in Virginia, behind Tech, Richmond, and JMU...probably after this week Hampton passes them on the list. I know it is not the best list but you have to have fun with it.
