Allen Campaign Sinks to New Low, Insults Jim Webb's Family

We know that George Allen and his henchmen will do or say anything to get elected.  Day after day, they pour out the lies about Jim Webb on radio, TV, and over the internet.  However, even by the slimy standards set by the Allen campaign, they have truly hit a new low with this one.  As you can see in the image above, captured from the official Allen blog, the Allen people have now resorted to insulting Jim Webb's family, implying that Webb only cares about his son, not his daughters.  Aside from being wildly untrue (what else is new for the Allen campaign?), this is truly beneath contempt.

OK, let's spell it out for the Allen people, real slow-like so they can understand: 1) Jim Webb deeply loves all his children; 2) Obviously, the Connection Newspapers simply made a mistake and left out Jim Webb's three daughters in their article; 3) I believe even the Allen people would agree that mistakes are known to happen from time to time in the media.

What's so contemptible about this claim is that the Allen campaign is trying to imply that Jim Webb loves his son (get it, the MALE child?) more than his daughters (get it, it goes with their political strategy to reduce Jim Webb's support among WOMEN?).  Not very subtle, but what do you expect from Allen, Wadhams, and Company?

Just to prove how absurd this "charge" is, here are a few examples of Jims' daughters being mentioned:

*Virginian-Pilot, 6/2/2006: "Family Lives with wife, Hong Le Webb, in McLean. Four children: Amy, 35; Jimmy, 25; Sarah, 23; Julia, 20."

*Associated Press, 6/14/2006: FAMILY Wife, Hong; Daughters, Amy Webb Hogan, 35, Sarah Webb, 23, and Julia Webb, 20; Son, Jimmy Webb, 25.

*Also, see here and here and here and here.

Or how about some of these pictures?

I may add some more later...there are numerous photos of Jim Webb and his family son AND daughters.

The Allen campaign owes Jim Webb an apology, big time.

What jerks.

Oh, yes! (phriendlyjaime - 10/14/2006 3:02:21 PM)
Issues are what's important...unless we are trashing Jim Webb.

Yet, Susan Allen thinks she can be the big winner for her racist bigot husband...real classy.

This is consistent with how Allen treated his sister (PM - 10/14/2006 3:20:19 PM)
Jennifer Allen was not only physically abused a bit, but as an adult was not allowed to speak at her father's funeral, though ALL the brothers were, and male outsiders were; she wrote that she understood the place of women in the George Allen household was to wait on men -- fold their jockstraps and make dinner for them; and when Senator Allen was asked about his sister's book, he dismissed it as something written by a kid sister (I believe that's in the Ryan Lizza article).

I'd still like to know why his divorce records are sealed.

Could (libra - 10/14/2006 6:58:25 PM)
the magic word here possibly be: Projection? Allen does what Allen knows best: projects his own faults onto someone else.

Allen's Slime (seamusotoole - 10/14/2006 9:55:16 PM)
He gets more and more desperate as time goes on doesn't he?  How about the way he hung his sister over Niagara Falls?  Talk about being abusive to women and not caring about them.  He's hardly the champion of chivalry.  I'd take his sister's word over his any day of the week.  Sad part in all of this is that people like Allen don't usually change and see nothing wrong with their behavior.  From all observations that I see Webb has one helluva of an amount of support from women of all different ages.  I had three women today in Costco give me the thumbs up when they saw me in my Webb shirt.
