Also, see Judy on Fox News from last night, and consider the growing possiblity that Frank Wolf is "safe" no more.

Nice story! (Doug in Mount Vernon - 10/11/2006 6:13:21 PM)
The Fox story was a great one.  I like the way Judy emphasized certain words.  Carefully spoken words can mean a lot!

It is clear she is the underdog, but I think she's comfortable with that knowing that she has enough money to make sure her message gets out and that the new voters in the district understand her movement for change.

FUDGE! (Dan - 10/11/2006 8:29:25 PM)
Darn it,

I don't see the video when I click on the link.  It says I require "Flash Macromedia 8".  Did anyone Youtube the Fox News spot?  Don't you mean Fox local news?

She's terrific! (Ingrid - 10/11/2006 8:30:28 PM)
I just got back from a fundraiser for Judy Feder at Sen. Whipple's in Arlington.  My sister Judith and I performed a song we wrote for her. There was so much evergy in the room, everyone sang along!  With that energy and intelligence, Judy has a good chance.  I am very hopeful!

Hi,  This video is a just a slice of Judy's presentation on Tuesday night, towards the end of her formal speech. I was there, and Judy totally rocked the house on Candidates' Night, 10/10, with a warm, sincere and inspiring performance in front of the standing-room only crowd. She spoke for ten minutes. Judy spent her last five alloted minutes with a very effective Q&A session, and then she stayed seated - and interested - as the two independent candidates gave their presentations.

Frank Wolf was pathetic.  His monotonal message was totally local in its focus, talking about how he got new lanes put onto highways, how he saved the post office in Great Falls; he gave a rant about the danger of gangs in No.VA. and on and on, running out the clock with banalities about local projects going back years, even decades. If I didn't know better I would have thought that he was running for reelection for County Executive. He certainly didn't sound like he was interested in Congress's work. He talked, in a low monotone and with no enthusiasm, for his entire 15 minutes, allowing no questions, and when he finished he was met with a brief, polite applause. He then walked to the back of the room and stood stone-faced and funereal, listening to Judy. As she finished and the crowd gave her a rousing applause, he slinked out the door. One of our later speakers passed Wolf as he exited. He later remarked to the crowd, "I don't know what happened, but Frank sure didn't look happy when he was going out the door. He didn't even say hello to me, and he knows me!" I think it's because Franks knew that he got a good old ass-whuppin'.

Let's make sure Frank Wolf gets another good whuppin' on Nov. 11th. Go, Judy!

Agreed... (Loudoun County Dem - 10/11/2006 11:55:26 PM)
This is a repost of my comment on the other Judy diary (sorry)...

Me, Mrs. LCD and 'lil LCD were at the candidates forum last night. There were literally 20+ Feder supporters in Feder t-shirts there passing out literature and cheering Judy on and the road side was carpeted with Feder signs. Several Feder supporters stood along Georgetown pike to hold signs and wave to rush hour commuters (many honks and thumbs up).

After the Great Falls community business (new building design for Commerce Bank - "I want it to look like a barn") the candidates each got 15 minutes (which could include questions at the candidates discretion).

First off was the surreal (or in this case sur-rail) experience that is Gail Parker. Actual question and answer - "What is your plan for getting us out of Iraq?" "Rail". She told us how hard it is to get on the ballot when you are an independent and how local communities should get more proactively involved in rail. Gail (obviously) took questions from the crowd. She seems very nice and very sincere and VERY focused (on rail).

Next was Frank(ing) Wolf, "I did this and I did that...". Not a word on the future. Actually brought up events that happened decades ago (Wolf Trap burning down, intersection and guard rail improvements on the GW Parkway), "I was the first Congressman to go to Darfur" (No word on Saipan which is an AMERICAN territory). Wolf also tried to lay the Tyson's Tunnel collapse (sorry, bad choice of words - derailment?) off on Governor Kaine claiming he told Kaine that he would support whatever the Governor chose (not a word on how he threatened to halt federal funding). Nothing on Foley/Hastert. HE TOOK NO QUESTIONS FROM THE CROWD!!! Frank, his wife, and an aide then stood in the back while Judy spoke like he had just finished his round in a rap showdown in 8 Mile. Tepid crowd response.

JUDY ROCKED THE HOUSE!!! She called on Hastert to resign and, looking directly at Wolf, called on Wolf to join her in calling for Hasterts resignation!!! She pointed out this republican congresses failures in foriegn policy, health care, education, job creation and protection, "The first thing I do in Congress is call for Rumsfeld to be removed and Bush must present Congress with a plan to get us out of Iraq", and many more. "THE ONLY WAY TO CHANGE WASHINGTON IS TO CHANGE THE PEOPLE WE SEND TO WASHINGTON!!!". HUGH APPLAUSE (during which Wolf and entourage literally stormed out). Judy took questions on Energy prices, Education costs, and Nuclear proliferation.

The other two candidates for the 10th CD spoke, Wilbur "Bill" Wood (Libertarian) told us that for too long we have had to decide between poached eggs (repugs) and scrambled eggs (Dems) and that we should try pancakes (him). Wood took questions (including the gem "How do we know you won't waffle?" - man I wish I had thought of that one...). Lastly came Neeraj Nigam (Independent) who talked about coming to America in 1989 and how we need to fix our problems now and "I want your vote not your money". Nigam took questions (Hmmm, which candidate was the only one to NOT take questions???) and it seemed that every answer was I agree with him or I agree with her.

The meeting was a little long but worth it as JUDY KICKED WOLF'S ARSE!!!

...and welcome to RK Wes... (Loudoun County Dem - 10/11/2006 11:56:23 PM)
We're glad to have you here...

Make that whuppin' on the 7th (Wes - 10/11/2006 11:26:30 PM)
Sorry about the typo, we all know election day is the 7th, right? ;)

I'm very impressed my Judy (demnan - 10/12/2006 10:12:25 PM)
My friend and I went to a rally for the Democrats at Robinson Middle School.  My friend said, "she's a pit bull!" That's wonderful if you're a Democrat.  Of course we have Andy Hurst here, and he's pretty much of a pit bull too.

Good Luck, Judy!
