Shoving Incident at the Halifax Cantaloupe Festival?

I heard the following from an anonymous source.  I wasn't at the Halifax Cantaloupe Festival, so I can't confirm it.  However, it rings true based on what I've seen and heard about Jerry Kilgore.  Here's the story:

The Kaine campaign had 4x8 signs up, and Kilgore and his entourage arrived at the event.  A Kilgore hanger-on (and George Allen employee, apparently) named Tucker Watkins objected to the presence of the signs and ordered a Kaine staffer to move them. The Kaine staffer refused, and the Kilgore staffer shoved him back several feet.  Someone may or may not have thrown a cantaloupe.  Kilgore did nothing. Didn't back his guy up, didn't tell him to knock it off. Showed he couldn?t even be a leader of his own entourage.

Does anyone know if this is true?  I certainly wouldn't want a false rumor to spread like wildfire across the internet or even into the "mainstream media," sort of like that Salem Fair "incident" a few weeks back which turned out not to be an incident at all.
