Clifton Days

We spent a good deal of this beautiful day in Clifton.  There were thousands of people who descended into the lovely downtown area which was totally closed off to traffic.  The Democratic Womens Club of Clifton set up a booth that was right on the corner with a huge American flag and Webb and Hurst signs all over the place.  The Webb lit, bumper stickers, yard signs and anything else with Webb's name on it flew out of the booth.

We walked from one end of the town to the other.  Everywhere you looked there were people with Webb lapel stickers.  Allen did sneak into town we heard hours later....very quietly...I can't imagine why that might be.  When we were walking with Andy Hurst and his ton of supporters we ran smack dab into some Allen supporters who were coming in the opposite direction.  Andy leaned over to shake hands with someone and lo and behold it was Allen.  No COWBOY HAT and no HORSE!!  I guess he was trying to blend in with the crowd.  I think maybe he wants low visibility what do you think?  He didn't seem to stick around for long.

There was an AMAZING show of support for Andy Hurst.  People were coming out of the woodwork to meet him and shake hands.  The seniors from Westfields High School in Centreville and Robinson High School were the BEST.  Their support for Webb and Hurst was terrific.  Support for WEBB came from both Democrats and Republicans.  I've got to say that the Democratic Women's Club of Clifton rocks.  A special thanks to the two Janes who organized this whole thing and pulled it off.

The DWC membership was out in force.  Whoever said that women in Virginia don't support Webb sure need to have their heads examined.   It definitely didn't look that way to me today in Clifton!  JAMES WEBB YOU ARE THE BEST AND SO ARE YOU ANDY HURST.  What a great day for the Democrats and a beautiful one at that.

Mary Lee and Andy on the road again...

Don't forget (Glant - 10/9/2006 7:10:56 PM)
The Democratic Women of Clifton did a great job.  But lets not forget the support they got from the Sully District and the Springfield District.  Lots of good strong Democratic support from multiple sources.
