Republicans Happy to Spend Mark Foley's $$$$

From today's New York Daily News, this pretty much says it all about the Republican Party - political expediency (e.g., winning electios) over principle (e.g., protecting underage boys from sexual predators like Foley) any day of the week:

MARK FOLEY may be an embarrassment to the Republicans, but they still like his money.

The National Republican Congressional Committee intends to spend the $100,000 the former Florida legislator gave this summer - before his sordid e-mail exchanges with male teenage congressional pages turned him into a grand old pariah.

"We're going to do with it what we do with other donations - use it to help elect Republicans," said NRCC spokesman Carl Forti.

Asked whether the committee would consider returning the money, Forti replied, "Nope."

Yeah, that sounds like the Republican Party alright!

That picture, wow. Look a little closely with the moose logo of Mark Foley's white shirt, um.. it's the clothing line of naked teens, Abercombie and Fitch.

Wow, even his clothes tell you he liked teens.

He even dressed like them.

exactly lowell, they have a history and with some controversy of posing teens half naked.

teens love the clothing line of course, and apparently mark foley does too.

I can't believe NO one on the hill had said anything before hand. Wow.

Look where Foley lived... (vote-left - 10/7/2006 9:58:17 PM)
According to this web site, he lived two blocks from the page's dormitory:

RE: Foley Cash on Hand (JPTERP - 10/7/2006 9:40:46 PM)
Foley has approximately $3 million cash on hand--and the NRCC is on record saying they would gladly take the money.  If I'm not mistaken, this money can also be used for a legal defense--and I suspect this is how Foley will use it.  Still, if the NRCC does end up getting its hands on the $3 mill this would seem like nice hammer that the DNC and Democratic candidates can use against the GOP from now until election day.

Meanwhile, Reynolds Is Going Down (PM - 10/8/2006 9:51:34 AM)

NRCC chief Tom Reynolds -- who's supposed to be spending all his time helping other GOP Reps keep their jobs -- is now losing by an eye-opening 15 points to Dem challenger Jack Davis, according to a new Zogby International poll done for the Buffalo News.

That's what they get when their leadership can't even get on the same page.
