oops (TurnVirginiaBlue - 10/7/2006 5:43:01 PM)
I just posted this, Ingrid, you on the case!

This video is absolutely amazing and gives the overall message that the American dream is being flushed down the toilet.

I didn't post on dailykos, expecting you too.

As far as I know we cannot embed YouTube's in diaries and to me, this should be front paged.

I know of a number of Dems running who basically want precisely what this video describes stopped...

To me, the video pretty much is what Webb is all about, national interests versus corrupt special/corporation/foreign interests buying off our congress.

You can emulate embedding the youtube clip... (Loudoun County Dem - 10/7/2006 6:35:55 PM)
You post a screenshot of the clip and post that image in the anchor of the youtube video (it sounds more complicated than it is). I have done this for this video as an example (Ingrid, you can copy this code to post the video in dkos if you wish).

(a href="xttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jTW0y6kazWM")(img alt=" title=" src="xttp://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m281/Twnty1inRF/Webb/cantmakeithere.jpg")(/a)

Just replace the parens with angle brackets and the xttp's with http's.

Here is what the produce looks like:

Very clever! (Lowell - 10/7/2006 6:36:49 PM)
Thanks.

awesome! (TurnVirginiaBlue - 10/7/2006 6:38:41 PM)
Do you know if it's allowed by kos stds.  He has been pretty anal on photos as of late, but youtube is designed for this...
just a reality check.

It is fine on dkos... (Loudoun County Dem - 10/7/2006 7:01:03 PM)
...as long as you post the still image on one of the accepted sites (like flickr or photobucket).

Why do they make things so hard at DKos (Lowell - 10/7/2006 7:20:59 PM)
these days? So many restrictions...any rationale?

BW restrictions (TurnVirginiaBlue - 10/7/2006 7:35:22 PM)
It eats up a lot of bandwidth to display a photo and some cheaper webhosts have limits...
it's also image theft.

It can also screw up the dailykos site because if the response time of the site hosting the image is slow, it slows the diary load too.
BW:  bandwidth or data transfer is another term.

but youtubes specifically aok embed? n/t (TurnVirginiaBlue - 10/7/2006 7:33:41 PM)
