Had Enough Republican Scandal? Wait a Minute, Abramoff's Back!

That's right, subsumed in the all the news of OTHER Republican scandals and disaters - make page sex, Iraq - is the Jack Abramoff scandal.  Remember him?  Last we checked, corrupt felon Abramoff had been tied to numerous Republicans, including Virginia Republicans like George Allen.  With all the other Republican scandals, however, it's almost like Jack Abramoff has been forgotten.  Well, he's baaaaack!  Check this out:

A key aide to presidential political strategist Karl Rove resigned Friday in the wake of congressional report that listed hundreds of contacts between disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff and the White House.

Susan Ralston, special assistant to President Bush, submitted a resignation letter to him less than five weeks before the midterm elections

That's right, the Republican Party isn't just the party of Mark Foley, Tom DeLay, and Dennis Hastert.  It's also the party of Jack Abramoff, and let's not forget that when we head to the voting booths on November 7.

By the way, it's true - as some people cynically say - that "they all do this."  Yet Republicans have managed - in just over 10 years - a level of corruption and abuse of power greater, I would strongly argue, than anything the Democrats achieved during their decades in power.  No doubt, that takes a certain kind of talent.  It's just not the kind of "talent" we want in Washington, DC.  Which is why it's time for a fall cleaning, a new start with fresh new faces in Washington DC.  People like Judy Feder and Andy Hurst and Jim Webb and....many others.  Just 32 days to go, and our long national nightmare nears the beginning of the end.  Go vote!
