Free College for Virgins: An Idea for "Taliban" and "Sideshow" Bob?

Believe it or not, a member of parliament in Uganda is offering free university tuition to girls who remain chaste during their tenure at school.  Reportedly, the girls "would be given a gynecological examination by health workers to check they were virgins."  Interestingly, the offer was not extended to boys who abstain from sexual activity.

Anyway, we were just wondering, would this be an idea that "Taliban Bob" McDonnell or "Sideshow Bob" Marshall might be interested in?  Seems like their type of thing, given their obsession with all things sexual, except perhaps it's not punitive enough.  Maybe if there were a penalty for the girls if they violate their oaths, like stoning perhaps, the idea might be a better fit for Bob and Bob?  The only problem is, what would all the boys of Virginia be doing with their energies if the Virginia girls were, well, Virgins?  Uh. Oh.

This is just very, very sad. I've been to Uganda--it's a society where women have often been raped for the misguided concept that sex with a virgin will cure a man of AIDs.  This measure may add another layer of desperation to an already horrible circumstance.  Bring that to Virginia and the prurient interests of folks like Marshall and McDonnell?  Sad thing is, in the perverse racist and sexist politics these guys advocate, this isn't a ridiculous proposition.  Can the tragedy go deeper than it already is?

Are you kidding me?  No, of course you are not.

Wow, seems like a good time to mention Bruce Roemmelt

Wow, that's some twist on a financial aid program.  Given his feelings about "chemical love canals for frat-house playboys", as Bob Marshall has called college women who use contraceptives, I wonder what he'd think...maybe you should forward this proposal to him for comment.

Lowell, they would only support this idea if they were the ones inspecting.
