How Does Speaker Eric Cantor Sound To You?

With all the finger pointing and conflicting reports going on just within the leadership of the US House of Representatives, It is important to remember something.

Dennis Hastert is third in line for President, should something happen to the President and Vice President.

When Tom DeLay had to step down, he was replaced by John Boehner of Ohio, himself waist-deep in corruption, connected to DeLay and Abramoff. Well, he has managed to survive so far.

Reynolds, Shimkus and Boehner have a better than average chance of not escaping this time as it looks now.

Join me for a discussion about what will happen if all 4 of the top people in House leadership take a fall, and Eric Cantor is next in line.
Eric Cantor is Deputy Whip of the House. He is near enough to the rest of the lesadership that it would surprise me if he doesn't already know about this situation.

He himself and his PAC, ERIC-PAC, have given a total of $14,000 to Mark Foley's campaign. That was four donations, three of which have come since it would be likely he would have known something about this. Also donating: Tom Reynolds and Deborah Pryce.

Foley himself gave $100,000 to the NRCC on July 29, 2006. I have heard reports today that the donation is being questioned as possibly being a blackmail payment for keeping quiet about his sickening behavior.

Cantor certainly would be in the running for Speaker or Majority Leader if all these enablers are made to step down and/or resign from Congress.

Two heartbeats away from being President.

We can't let this happen.

Give to Jim Nachman for Congress. He is a great guy, a great lawyer, and will make a great Congressman from the 7th District!

this might be the way it goes, or Henry Hyde as interim Speaker, and Jim McCrery of Louisiana as Majority Leader.

Can we afford to let this go by without screaming about it? A congressman in our midst has taken donations from Jack Abramoff and has donated to Mark Foley? Cantor as Speaker of the House?

Blech! (to quote Mad magazine)

We are indeed living in rareified times. The country has gone mad.
