Wow -- it isn't that much of a leap to go from Swift Boat Veterans for Truth to white supremicism.  Did you do a dKos diary, too?  This is extremely important, not just for this campaign, but for national campaigns as well.  If we can paint these smear artists as being connected to neo-Nazis, shall we say, that may make them less likely to be taken seriously.

Can you provide me with how they are friends?  That would mean a direct link between SBVT and white supremicist thinking.  Thanks.

It is strange that you mention the Vietnam War heroes -- McCain, Stockdale, Galanti, and McDaniels as being your 'mentors.' Paul Galanti is a friend who supports the work that I am doing now. Two others, both NamPOWs and fellow-Vigilante pilots, Jim Bell and Jerry Coffee, are very close friends.  But do you know what?  None of the latter view themselves as HEROES. They are certainly proud of what they survived and that they came home with honor. But heroes?  No. They are survivors.

Although Atkinson himself did not invent the theories that Jews (euphemism Germans via Frankfurt school) and "cultural Marxism" are trying to "destroy Western civilization," he is a major proponent of those ideas, and has written extensively on them.

Do you have some direct links proving that neo-nazi groups cite Gerald Atkinson?  I was briefly on the hideous site Vanguard News Network, and searched for Gerald Atkinson and came up with nothing.

I think this is important so the SBVT is finally shut down for good.

Gerald Atkinson is a navy guy with a Ph.D. in nuclear engineering (or physics?).

This is very possibly a different Gerald Atkinson.

But. I don't know that for sure. It should be verified.

Gregory A. White, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio, announced today that on Thursday, January 12, 2006, a jury in U.S. District Court in Cleveland, Ohio, returned guilty verdicts on all four counts against Gerald Atkinson, age 57, of 2133 East Union Rd, Jefferson, Ohio, following a two week trial.

On September 22, 2004, a federal grand jury in Cleveland returned an indictment charging Atkinson with one count of conspiracy to defraud the United States by providing the government with materially false certifications and non-conforming component parts intended for use by the United States Navy on Virginia-Class submarines, two counts of major fraud against the United States, and one count of making materially false statements.

Atkinson was employed by the Electrolizing Corporation of Ohio, in Cleveland, Ohio, as the company’s Quality Assurance Manager. The jury found that from approximately May 1992 to December 1999, Atkinson and other co-conspirators delivered, and caused to be delivered, component parts used in the Control Drive Mechanism of nuclear propulsion systems contained on Virginia-class submarines. The jury further found that the parts were delivered from Electrolizing to the Navy, and failed to conform to physical and contractual requirements mandated by the government for those parts.

In addition, the jury determined that parts supplied by Electrolizing were plated using unapproved and improper techniques and procedures, and that Atkinson and others created falsified documentation representing that proper techniques and procedures had been employed.

The jury determined that Atkinson and others falsified the results of tests commonly referred to as "bend tests," by pre-bending "coupons" plated alongside the component parts sold for use by the Navy, prior to plating the items, in violation of government specifications mandating that the bend test take place after the plating process to ensure adequate adhesion to the parts.

When the Navy was notified of these charges in 1999, it undertook a comprehensive review of the component parts used in naval applications. Based on this review, the Navy determined that the practices at Electrolizing had not resulted in hardware deficiencies that adversely affect ship or personnel safety.

The defendant will be sentenced in March 2006, following completion of a presentence investigation by the U.S. Probation Office.

The investigation giving rise to the above charge was conducted by special agents of the Defense Criminal Investigative Service and Naval Criminal Investigative Service. The prosecution was handled by Assistant United States Attorneys Richard H. Blake and Justin J. Roberts.

I am almost certain that the Gerald Atkinson who was convicted of fraud is NOT the same Gerald Atkinson of newtotalitarians.com. 

I had no idea that there were white supremicists with such close ties to the SBVT.  It makes it even more ridiculous that people took them seriously in '04, let alone now.
