Legislative Black Caucus Endorses Webb; Campaign Hauls in $3 Million!

Great news; see here and here for more.

  According to the Daily Press:

Del. Dwight C. Jones of Richmond, the caucus chairman, said the Webb endorsement had more to do with Allen's stands on Iraq and his loyalty to President Bush than recent allegations Allen showed racial insensitivity.

"It was George Allen's commitment to the president, voting with him 97 percent of the time and the bungling of this whole terror thing," Jones said in a telephone interview.

Also, according to the Daily Press:

[Webb] campaign spokeswoman Kristian Denny Todd said the campaign expects fundraising totals for the past three months would come to about $3 million, by far the best yield yet for Webb's cash-starved campaign.

Combined with today's Mason-Dixon poll and the endorsement by military women, this has been one of the best days of the campaign for Jim Webb!

George Afraid to Answer Questions? (PM - 9/29/2006 10:08:51 PM)
From a WaPo story tomorrow:

At the event with Hutchison, Allen briefly spoke to about 85 female supporters. He left without taking questions after Hutchison finished speaking. But his wife, Susan, responded to a question from the audience about how the family was "holding up."

85 female supporters? (Arturo - 9/30/2006 10:26:40 AM)
they couldn't drum up more women for the event?  Pathetic!

I was at the Al Franken movie in DC last night. Al Franken was there and spoke before the movie. He asked people to donate to Jim Webb.
