Hello Everyone:

Jim Webb came to Dallas on Thursday, September 28 for a fundraising event that I was able to attend.

Jim Webb talked with people for about 45 minutes and then he spoke for about 15 minutes. His speech was excellent in my opinion!

Webb talked about BushGÇÖs irresponsible foreign policy, how he opposed occupying other countries going back to 2001, and how that a GOP controlled rubber stamp Congress has NOT done its job of speaking up to hold Bush accountable for his mistakes. He did give credit specifically to Russ Feingold, Barack Obama, and to Chuck Hagel (who he said is a long time friend of his) for standing up to Bush but said that there needs to be many more members of Congress who will also do that!
Webb also articulated on BushGÇÖs expansion of Presidential authority and mentioned that as a big reason of why Democrats have to win back Congress in this election. He said that the rubber stamping of Bush in Congress has got to stop and that George AllenGÇÖs 97% rubber stamping of Bush must stop!

On George Allen, Webb knows very well what he is going up against by his taking on Allen. Webb said that he knows he will come under a full scale barrage of attacks from Allen, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, the NRSC, and the RNC. But WebbGÇÖs attitude is that someone has to stand up to these people and fight back against them. I was absolutely thrilled to hear him say that!

Webb said that AllenGÇÖs campaign is shocked that this is now a two point race when Allen is a leading 2008 Presidential contender, is an incumbent Senator, was a former Governor, and when he has held other public offices!

Webb said that he thinks he can pull the Reagan Democrats away from Allen and said that he still respects Ronald ReaganGÇÖs leadership abilities. He mentioned that a well known Republican leader who he knows (he could not give the name of that person for obvious reasons) is routing for him to win over Allen!

Jim Webb is in this Senate race for all of the right reasons and he is very sharp on the issues in my opinion!

I really enjoyed getting to meet and talk with him!

An excellent example for all of us to follow and what we all need to be doing to help fight against extreme right wing Neocon smear propaganda which will help our local candidates to win their races!

Attack on Web by a fellow vet. (Bubby - 9/30/2006 12:46:04 PM)
I just want to say that any campaign that would recruit a fellow Vietnam veteran - Dan Cragg, and then promote his lies about a brother is undeserving of respect, or re election.  There was never any illusion that Allen's campaign staff was in the gutter, but Dan Cragg is vermin.  Enjoy your lie-ridden bed former Sergeant Major, you made it.
