Aside from last night's week's rally with Barack Obama, tonight's last Thurdsday night's fundraiser with Mark Warner, and Sunday evening's amazing event with John Grisham, Stephen King and Tim Kaine, today promises to be an exciting day as well.

That's right, John Edwards comes to town; two towns actually, Frederickburg and Oakton/Vienna. The first even tis a public rally, the second is a private fundraiser for Jim Webb.  Both should be full of energy and excitement about our next US Senator, Jim Webb.  Thanks to John Edwards for coming to Virginia and helping out!  Here are the details:

2008 Presidential Race (loboforestal - 9/21/2006 1:31:31 PM)
The common wisdom had it that the VA-SENATE 2006 race was a warm up for Allen's 2008 Presidential campaign.  The real contenders for the White House are part of the Webb Team.

Go Jim !  Keep Fighting !

COMMENT HIDDEN (blackamerican - 9/21/2006 1:35:33 PM)

This is supposed to be an intelligent coment? (Lowell - 9/21/2006 1:40:07 PM)
Look, if you have nothing to add to the discussion here, why don't you just go over to "The A Team" or some other right-wing blog?  There are plenty of them, that's for sure!

Actually, my understanding is that Edwards IS (Lowell - 9/21/2006 1:41:23 PM)
a candidate for 2008.  Unless you believe there should be completely new people every year, but then neither Ronald Reagan nor George W. Bush would have become President.  And wouldn't that have been a crying shame?

I would troll rate you (phriendlyjaime - 9/21/2006 1:45:22 PM)
but it is so much more satisfying to let others see how useless your comments are.

Uh (DukieDem - 9/21/2006 1:48:09 PM)
We just had a 'fresh' candidate yesterday with Barack Obama, and I guess we should apologize that we can actually bring in national figures who generate enthusiasm.

When Allen brings in Bush he does it in secret and just uses him to raise money, and when he brings in McCain a measly 120 people show up.

Either way, it'll be the end of the Bush Dynasty (RayH - 9/21/2006 1:49:53 PM)

WooHoo!!!

It sure will be refreshing to get rid of these tired old pachyderms filling the White House and US Capitol Building with the foul stench of their graft and lies.

Before GWB, I believe that there were about 5 or 6 thousand lobbyists in DC. Since the Republican takeover of everything, there are about 30,000. The K Street Project- which Lott, DeLay, et al (including Allen) promoted- ensured that nearly all of these new money-grubbers are Republican/corporate apparatchiks, and they're busy with buying influence all day. I sure hope that Democrats will be empowered to overturn this situation, and that the Republican lobbyists go away.

Tom Davis and the K Street Project (Andrea Chamblee - 9/21/2006 3:22:57 PM)
Davis was active in the K Street Project at the NRCC from behind the scenes.  His deputy at the NRCC, Dan Mattoon was an Abramoff operative and Davis oversaw Abramoff's influence and efforts at it's rise in 1998-2002 through the K Street Project

You are back! (Hugo Estrada - 9/26/2006 12:46:44 PM)
I really miseed you.

Maybe now you can explain how a "black"american supports a candidate who uses the n-word.

And why do Republicans coddle racists? You never quite answer that question either.

Isn't Allen the Rich Lawyer Type? (loboforestal - 9/21/2006 2:43:00 PM)
Wasn't the nomination wrapped about the time VA voted?

Are you uninformed?

I was... (littlepunk - 9/21/2006 3:58:13 PM)
...referring to the general election - not the primary.  My fault - will be more clear next time.

And I'm quite informed.

Seriously, Allen is Major Recipient of Lobbyist and Lawyer Cash (loboforestal - 9/21/2006 4:12:03 PM)
Allen is the #2 Republican (after Rick Santorum) to receive contributions from lawyers & lobbyists.

A lot of Allen legislation is designed to generate lawyer's fees and increase paperwork.

The Democrats often get tarred with this "rich lawyer" brush; but in this election Webb is the let's make it simpler and fairer guy.

Edwards (libra - 9/21/2006 5:44:26 PM)
Is no longer the same little lawyer boy he had been 2 yrs ago. Whether it's his wife's illness (of which he learrnt right at the end of the '04 campaigh) or his work with the Poverty Center (or whatever its full name s) but he's done *a lot* of growing up. I thought he was a slick "nothing much" when I heard him in '04. When I heard him more recently I was impressed (much to my own surprise )

So I think he'll be good for Webb.

Rally (Kifaru1 - 9/21/2006 7:15:55 PM)
Why, oh why do they hold these at 3pm on a work day?? I work in Stafford, and there is no way I can make it. By the way, I need some yard signs from the campaign. I work with a bunch of people who would put them up in Spotsylvania, where neither campaign appears to have a presence...

Is the reason funds? (JohnM - 9/26/2006 8:50:45 AM)
I wanted to write this somewhere. I want to know what Webb is doing about the negative mail campaigns that are flooding Richmond and my area Western Henrico County. While I know I live in a GOP stronghold I have seen nothing from Webb. I have  seen 3 different mail ads from the RSNC(or whatever their aconym is)

The last two have targeted Webb and his stand on women in the military. I want to know what Webb has said on this? His words are pretty clear, ironically most of teh GOP including Allen im sure agreed with him at the time.

The latest ad i got was a pretty despicable hit piece painting the Tailhook scandal as something that Webb thought was "made up"

Whats the truth here from Webb and why am i not seeing anything? Is it because of the fund shortfall the Webb campaing is in right now?

Edwards is with Hurst this morning (Andrea Chamblee - 9/26/2006 9:23:52 AM)
if you can make it down there! Sept 30 is the end of the reporting period, so be sure to add a few bucks to the kitty!

Edwards in Oakton (egregious - 9/26/2006 7:21:35 PM)
I would have liked to know Edwards was going to be in Oakton.  Campaign info indicated the action was far south of here.
