Dick, Virginia is not South Dakota

It's a bad year for Republicans. It's been a long ride to be honest ever since 2004 for everyone.

Republicans are nervious though, you can see the money they are spending in un-truthful negative ads to demonize thier democratic opponents.

Dick Wadhams, knows a little something or two about this.

I don't know Dick, before this campaign but I understand he helped oust the former Democratic Senate Leader, Tom Daschle with that thug John Thune.

I don't know what Dick has done since then, but he doesn't understand one thing:

Virginia is not South Dakota.
I moved here to Virginia actually at the end of last year. I have lived in many places in this country, or have visted and you can always see the differences of culture from one place to the next.

Driving through Southwest Virginia and then Richmond north to Northern Virginia you can tell how different the commonwealth really is.

In Southwest Virginia, it's rural. A lot of country to view, and poor whites for the most part.

In Richmond, you have a real city. I even saw tall buildings. The heart of Virginia.

In Norfolk, you have a military town. A whole lot of military folks, and military retirees.

In Northern Virginia, a very populus, diverse (both in economics and ethnicity), and growing region of Virginia.

I have never been to South Dakota, but I have many friends who are orginally from the Coyote state. I do know this.

South Dakota, not that this is a bad thing is 90% White, and 91% Christian.

Tom Daschle lost his Senate seat in 2004, a time where some of us in America were still blind. In an election where "terror" was on everyone's mind. In a state, which is heavily Republican.

Now we are in 2006, in a REAL battleground state, that is increasingly becoming more blue year by year and Dick thinks he can do a repeat of 2004 in Virginia?

Virginia is about 70% White (may need correction), and 84% Christian. The second highest ethnicity in Virginia is African-Americans at 20%, following a increasing hispanic group.

Virginia's demographics are rapidly changing and so is it's politics. Democrats have seen gains recently in Virginia, and if Mark Warner is on the ticket in 2008 for the presidency Virginia may go blue.

So why does Dick Wadhams think he can come to Virginia and win one more for the Republicans?

I think it's time that you Virginians show California Allen, and Dick who Virginia really is. That she is not a safe haven for the GOP, and not to be bullied by lies and falsehoods.

Not only is this increasingly blue state going to show Dick up on November 7th, he's going to be out of a job, subject to a loss, and a need for some major counseling.

I am tired of the lies, tired of the distortion, just plain tired and irritated from the GOP in general. I have just had enough. Time for Allen to go, and have a real Senator fight for Virginia. That's Jim Webb.

Newsflash Dick, Virginia is not South Dakota.
