I am so sick and tired of this crap. President Bush and his Republican lackeys (Sen. Allen included) would like the American people to believe that the Democratic Party supports a "cut and run" strategy in Iraq. They seem to have forgotten history not three and a half years ago did this administration erroneously use old intelligence to support an actual cut and run strategy in Afghanistan to invade Iraq. However, we had only been in Afghanistan for less than two years, had not caught Osama Bin Laden and had established a weak government with almost no security force. In Iraq the government is not that strong and the same can be said for its security force, however the burden for this must fall on the Iraqi government. When President Bush says that the United States will be in Iraq indefinitely he is writing the Iraqi government a blank check, because you see the people in Iraq that most want the US to stay there are those in the government. Why? Right now the US troops are the main target for the insurgent fighters, if the troops leave who, do you think will take their place. The only way to light a fire under the ass of the Iraqi government to produce a respectable security force is to set a time table, because then they know that the US will eventually not be there to protect them. Another need to leave Iraq is the disaster that has become Afghanistan, it is widely regarded that Afghanistan is more dangerous than Iraq. The Taliban is resurging and the one just action take in name of 9/11 is about to fail. Jim Webb is the only candidate that understands the complexities of foreign policy and domestic policy, he will not take orders like his opponent, who votes the way the President wants 97% of the time, he will be an independent mind.
And of the recent criticism about the article he wrote in 1979, first he has apologized numerous times. Second, there is only one candidate in this race that thinks a woman has the right to choose what she does with her body.
