Sept. 13 poll, SurveyUSA: Allen 48% Webb 45%

In Virginia's U.S. Senate race, a new SurveyUSA poll shows Sen. George Allen (R-VA) with in a statistical tie with challenger James Webb (D). Allen technically leads by 48% to 45%, but it's within the 4.6% margin of error.

Key finding: The impact of Allen's "macaca" comments should now have now been fully digested by the electorate, and the narrowing of the race appears not to have been temporary.
