Elect Rex

It's been awhile since I posted anything, so I'd thought I'd make a few comments in light of Lowell's awesome interview of Rex.  Good job by the way Lowell, I couldn't have written it better! :-)

I have to agree with Lowell; Rex is the most believable politician I have ever worked for.  When he speaks of his plan, you know he's going to do it, whether or not he is elected, because he has the details already worked out. It isn't just some idea that popped into his head on the way into work that morning. Rex has a long record of public service and dedication to community and people. I for one know that the future of my children will be brighter with a leader like Rex in office who cares to make a difference.

Everywhere we go, people are not only happy to see Rex, they're excited! I have actually been amazed by the response we have gotten because it is greater than I ever imagined.  And it isn't just the public, but also local leaders who have been overwhelmingly supportive of the campaign in ways that I have rarely seen. People are ready for a change, leadership for a change!

The picture above is of my children with Rex at the Big Stone Gap Fourth of July parade (our hometown). We had a float full of people and we had such a wonderful time. The kids were so excited (they love Rex too, and you rarely fool a child when it comes to personality of a person). They threw candy and shouted, "Elect Rex!" in their little tee shirts that read, "If I were bigger, I'd Elect Rex Delegate!"

Rex is the kind of guy that loves this sort of thing, being with people on a personal level. In November, I too believe that people are going to do the right thing. I have never felt so sure of anything in my life.

And darn little camp (Tabitha - 4/4/2006 11:27:12 PM)
And darn little campaigners they are Brian! They are the most civically involved primary school children I know in an age where civics classes are being watered down to most high schoolers.

Look for Austin (on the left, the oldest of the crew) to be a politician someday. This year he has "lobbied" every local politician he has met at various events for a gym for his primary school. :-)

You have FIVE kids?  All I can say is Wow. You almost have your own baseball team (or campaign staff). :)
