...on what constitutes the "real" Virginia. I've always thought that Waldo was one of the best writers, if not THE best, in the Virginia blogosphere. This article is no exception. I just wish that George Allen would read it, absorb it, and change his narrow-minded view of what constitutes the "real Virginia." Yes, George, "real Virginia" includes Fairfax, Arlington, Alexandria (where you live!), Reston, Herndon, Woodbrdige, Richmond, Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Newport News, Roanoke, Charlottesville, Martinsville, Staunton (where you fled the other day when confronted by a woman in a banana costume), etc., etc.
Sorry, George, does this subject "bore" you? Well, unfortunately for you, George, it's the truth even if it IS boring: Virginia is changing faster than the "wounded sea slug" you will be serving in for another few months. No worries after December 2006, though; you can move to Iowa where you wish you had been born, and which undoubtedly is far more "real" to you than most of Virginia! Ha.
