Not Larry Sabato, Its not funny anymore...

Not Larry Sabato has been the joke of the blogosphere for a very long time now, however it's not funny anymore... Ben's expulsion from the Democratic Party has caused him to create many enemies and as his credibility dissolves, he is getting increasingly desperate.

  1. NLS is not 99.7% accurate... He just isn't. Maybe 50% accurate, thats a joke that he has said so many times that he now believes it. Below are his predictions and what the actual results were.

1st District- Leans Webb +óGé¼GÇ£ Webb by 10
2nd District- Leans Webb- Tie
3rd District- Toss Up- Miller by 45
4th District- Toss Up- Miller by 31
5th District- Toss Up- Miller by 3
6th District- Leans Webb- Webb by 16
7th District- Toss Up- Miller by 13
8th District- Toss Up- Webb by 30
9th District- Likely Webb- Webb by 11
10th District- Likely Miller- Webb by 14
11th District- Slight Lean Webb- Webb by 14

Valentine v. I forget who- Toss-up- Valentine by 15

Herring v. Stanton- Slight Lean Democratic- BLOWOUT- Herring wins by 22.

Bowling v. Cook- Leans Democratic- BLOWOUT- Bowling by 21

  2. Ben's attempts to find primary challengers for the dozens of elected Democrats who shunned him after his endorsement of Michael Golden has failed miserably and just caused him to be further distanced from the party.
  3. His attacks on Gerry Connolly go beyond ANY definition of civility and make it appear like he's not right in the head... Gerry Connolly is a great Democrat and a great Chairman of the Fairfax County Board.
  4. He's seen a joke; but when he started personally attacking people it became simply unacceptable.

Not Larry Sabato is a joke and should always be taken with a grain of salt. Its is blogs like NLS that give us a bad name.

Comments

I lost respect for NLS (blue32nd - 9/1/2006 1:57:43 PM)
a long time ago.  he's a liar and a Republican.

Bluein32nd is also Pitin (Ben - 9/3/2006 1:17:48 PM)
Nate, don't set up multiple screen names to attack me.  How cowardly.

Nate... (Ben - 9/3/2006 10:04:01 PM)
Come out of hiding and address this issue...

Ben... (pitin - 9/4/2006 1:50:23 AM)
I'm not Blue32nd, not really sure why you think that.  My comment about you is further down below in this thread...Why do you think I'm Blue 32nd?

This reminds me of a saying (Mark - 9/1/2006 2:23:18 PM)
"Everybody thinks Granpa is crazy, but they all turn to look when he drops his pants and dances."

When Ben started 'threatening' to make shit up about Al Weed and keep it up until the election, I stopped reading him. His bread and circuses act is very stale, and his manipulation of even his own readers is beyond the pale.

It goes to show if you make a big enough ass of yourself, at least some people will look at you and pay attention. That is what he is all about, attention.

He stopped being funny a very long time ago... (Mimi Schaeffer - 9/1/2006 5:40:10 PM)
He's a self-absorbed windbag.  Perfect candidate for the GOP.

The reason NLS has visitors... (Mimi Schaeffer - 9/1/2006 5:58:52 PM)
They're mostly Republicans or poor saps he's conned through advertising at other sites.

It sure as hell ain't due to content; or his soothsaying prowess.

Once in a while, he'll have a hit; very rare; usually I leave a post to rebut what he's said.

sour grapes... (not gretchen bulova - 9/1/2006 6:36:53 PM)
This is just sour grapes James.  You've deleted multiple posts I have made, even questions during live chats.  You are simply jealous of Ben's traffic.

Any explanation (Mark - 9/1/2006 9:33:15 PM)
for the zero for saying what I am thinking?

Is any of what I said about you?

Meow (GinterParked - 9/1/2006 7:07:55 PM)
Now *this* is a productive use of bandwidth.  I just comment occaisionally, on this blog, and that one, and some others. I'm not personally invested in the phenomenon, but I have to say that blogs have accomplished some useful things - including, and rather recently, NLS.

James... are you trolling for Jeff Shapiro?

James, haven't classes started yet? (Lowell - 9/1/2006 9:33:06 PM)
Keg parties?  Any cool clubs to join?  New friends? It just seems like you should have better things to do in your first few weeks of college than to be blogging about a blog you don't happen to like.  I mean, seriously dude, these are the "best years of your life," and besides that, your parents are spending a fortune on your education.  Time to focus! :)

Another thought. (Lowell - 9/1/2006 9:35:20 PM)
We have a barn burner of a Senate election going on; seems to me that this - along with school, keggers, etc. - should keep you busy 24/7.  Have you organized the school yet for Jim Webb?  Personally, I want to hear what's up with that!

Cold and Dreary (James Martin - 9/1/2006 10:34:35 PM)
Its raining and very cold, so im inside blogging :) (while playing BS with a big group). I don’t drink, so no keggers... And Josh and I are already working on coordinating Webb through the Yd's!!! (go josh!)

Dude (DanG - 9/2/2006 12:33:49 AM)
Go out, have a beer, and stop fighting little battles amongst volunteers.  We have a much bigger fish to fry.  This is NOT the time to pull this shit, James.

Ah......now it makes sense (mosquitopest - 9/2/2006 12:23:16 AM)
This explains why he never followed through with that developing story about a VA democrat making a racist remark.

Buzz.....

I liked this post too (pitin - 9/2/2006 12:33:48 AM)
It's just silly The lies Tribbett is willing to tell to get readership

An email tip I just received tells me that Andy Hurst for Congress has a facebook site up where they call incumbent Tom Davis a "douchebag".  How undignified.

I hope this isn't true.  I'm looking into it now...

UPDATE:  Comments say Andy was not responsible for this.  I hope something will be done to make that more clear.

Yeah, that was my facebook group and it had two disclaimers that it was a volunteer page, and in no way tied to the campaign.  Here is exactly what was written

This group is a volunteer based group to get Andy Hurst (D) elected to Congress from the 11th district of Virginia.

Andy is going against Tom Davis (R) the Douchebag Congressman who subpoenaed Terri Schaivo. He is also a liar, for example: was quoted in the press as saying "I have never taken a nickel from Oil Companies" when in fact he has taken $117,000+ from them.

Let's not also forget, that he is a rubberstamper for Bush having voted with him, 89% of the time.

*This communication is not paid for or authorized by any candidate or candidate's committee*

How that is not clear, is still not known to me.

Oh yeah, Remember in 2005 Tribbett kept saying "Marsden is attacking Michael Golden's family" he has still to explain his statement.

Ben, I know your reading this, please tell us what you meant and how exactly Marsden was attacking Golden's family.

RE: NLS (JPTERP - 9/2/2006 12:44:55 AM)
I don't know Ben personally, but I do enjoy the NLS blog.

I suspect his blog--and many for that matter--are very much in line with the scandal sheets that were once standard in early American politics.

I think Virginia Centrist's description of NLS is very apt: "Hurtful gossip and personal attacks intermixed with intelligent analysis. Has the power to bring dead policitians back to life with the stroke of his delete key."

I don't get the sense that NLS has the temperment to be inside the political arena--I see him being very much like Alan Lichtman yesterday--getting carted away in a police car outside the Maryland Democratic Senate debate.  It's clear though that he is passionate about politics and knows more than he probably should.  I'd be a little hesitant to entrust him with the well-being of my county, but, as far as politics are concerned, I wouldn't disregard his opinions out of hand ever.

Btw, James--I second Lowell's comments concerning Keggers and freshman year parties.

NLS is just good, goofy fun (Doug Garnett-Deakin - 9/2/2006 7:58:38 AM)
Wow, I thought I was the crotchety old man, and I am old. NLS requires a good, juvenile sense of humor, but remember where the 11 flipping toupees came from at the start of Macaca-gate. I think Ben earned posting 100 lame or useless or even wrong stories for bringing so much initial attention to the video.

Plus Not Ted Stevens does not post here, nor Not Pam Anderson, etc. and I need my weekly shots of their cranky humor.

NLS is like good stink bait (Bubby - 9/2/2006 12:27:48 PM)
And a salt-lick to boot - it brings the trolls within easy slapping distance. He and Kenton do some pretty good political stat. analysis together. However, Ben swerves toward Liebermannville from time to time, what's that about? Guess it gives him cred with the wingnuts.  And that smokin' hot Not Pam Anderson posts the girlie perspective there, so I'm drawn.

You know the RW'nuts are loving this :( (beachydem - 9/3/2006 12:39:42 PM)
Can we get back to bashing those 'nuts instead of our own?

Peace.
